About this deal

The Logitech G29 and the G920 are two racing wheels, which are both almost identical. The G29 is compatible with PlayStation consoles and PCs. And the G920 is the Xbox compatible racing wheel. Both look and function almost identically, with the exception of the PS4 having an extra dial on the front.

These PS4 exclusive touches really finish the wheel off nicely and give it that racing vibe. These weren’t included on the Xbox version due to restrictions with the Xbox architecture. Meaning Xbox gamers such as myself, miss out. The manual shifter itself transforms the racing wheel into something much closer to a regular road car. But much like its racing wheel brother, it also has some flaws. The main one being how weak it is. There is little to no resistance in the shifting at all. You can literally shift with your little finger. One of the cool things about this stand is the ability to upgrade it with a racing seat, making it a full sim rig. This means that you can buy this stand and have a strong base to build off of in the future. However, we will save the shifter for another review, as it isn’t a part of the standard product bundle. The Logitech G29 Driving Force does its best to look and feel like a ‘real’ steering wheel. And those of you who have owned or wanted one of these wheels for years will notice it looks an awful lot like the Logitech G27, its last-gen brother. Unlike a few other starter pedal sets, Logitech is generous enough to include a third pedal. This is great to see, as Logitech also sell an add-on shifter. But after spending some time with the G29 or G920, you start to become aware of its downside. Those gears produce a lot of spiking and jumping.

in diameter, with a largely metal frame and finished with leather, it has a high-end-enough build to just-about give you enough ammunition to convince people it’s not a toy. Yes, we know it is one really. Much like the main wheel itself, the pedals that come in this wheel bundle are well designed and look the part. They feature a plastic base, with three metal pedals. Aside from the decent pedals and the questionable colourful bonus buttons, one of the neat extra features of the Logitech G29 is the LED display that sits just above the wheel’s centre. This acts as a rev counter, letting you tell when it’s time to change gears — particularly useful if you have the sound down low. Is this the best PS4 wheel? Right now there are no perfect options, and just a few very good ones. The Logitech G29 sits among them, with a nice leather-upholstered wheel and plenty of PS4 specific controls.GT Omega is a market leader for sim racing rigs and is known for having reliable and durable products. With this stand you will get a quality product for a good price, making it a great value. For compatibility, you can mount most sim racing wheels, such as Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec.

We imagine some of you will be owners of older Logitech G-series wheels wondering whether you should upgrade or not. If you’re after PS4 support, the old wheels will do you no good. They don’t work with the console, despite a 20,000-strong petition to get Logitech to add PS4 support (which some claim would be possible). Since buying the G29, we’ve gone on to own and drive with a complete range of racing wheels. From Thrustmaster equivalents, up to the extreme power of Fanatec’s direct-drive racing wheels. But we have always kept our humble G920, and it still gets it’s time in the spotlight from time to time. It takes a little bit of time to get used to, but after a bit of practice, you will be able to consistently hit your braking zones. But despite this, these pedals do a good job of allowing you to brake consistently every lap. The brake itself utilizes a resistor giving it a reasonably realistic feel. Essentially the further you push the brake, the harder it becomes to press. You get the extra controls on the faceplate, plus a new feel to the brake pedal. There are probably tweaks to the internals, but these are the main differences we noted. This is especially present when you hit a large bump or rumble strip. The wheel feels like it skips a gear or two, making the car feel light. This isn’t accurate and when you’re not expecting it can catch you out. The Next Level Racing Wheel Stand Lite is made of power coated steel. It features an adjustable pedal plate that is connected to the vertical wheel stand column. You can adjust the height of the stand easily with a couple of adjustment knobs. You can even adjust the angle of the steering wheel, and distance of the pedals on the stand.
