I’m working in a school that uses ORT but have done reading assessments using PM books, so this was EVER so helpful and the only one I could find on the web. My DD2 is 6, in Year 1 and on Stage 3 Oxford Reading Tree, but I have no idea how this compares to the Ginn books. My daughter is 4 and started reception in September, she is reading the Gin books level 1 and we've nearly read them all so will be on level two soon. DS1 is in Y4 and they're not allowed to bring the school reading books home any more, which seems a bit odd.
She was really relieved when, after Ginn Level 4, the school switched him on to Oxford Reading Tree. I think that sometimes teachers can be surprised by how quickly an individual child has progressed, and so bump them up several levels when they assess their reading. She can read ALL of the level 2 words and some more but she is having to read ALL the big books(6 I think), and all the little books (12 I think) before moving on to the next level. I've bought the Ladybird Read It Yourself series Levels 3 and 4 (lots of easy to read fairy stories) in the hopes that it ignites even a tiny spark of pleasure for DD1.

its such an indivudual thing though tbh i only looked at the levels today seeing this thread as as long as she is enjoying the reading, and she seems to me that she is managing the book she brings home to read i try not to worry. Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive.However, their best guess is that he’s reading at age 15 – yet he isn’t challenged by reading books at school because he’s not allowed to read out of his band!
