NJ Miller has delivered a brilliant debut all on her own terms and I like her style! I also would like to know her as her observations on life, love and the neighbours are hilarious. THE UNDERHILL MANUFACTURING COMPANY'S WORKS are situated on Third River, and were built in 1840, and known for many years as the Harrison Mills. They were originally built and operated by Sebastian, William and John Duncan. The old buildings were burned down, and rebuilt in 1878 by Mr. Charles F. Underhill, who is now the manager of the concern. The goods produced here are chiefly articles of gentlemen's underwear of cotton and wool.

She was relieved that her sales patter sufficed. So the deal was done, I hadn’t even consulted Dave but he was chill and always said, We never have to worry about Suzy, she’s a good girl. As Raquel’s misadventures take an unexpected turn towards the criminal, she faces an unthinkable dilemma. In her hour of need, she must turn to her eccentric and sometimes annoying family for help. There’s just one major hiccup – her husband, Dave, is a law-abiding police officer. Matt’s turn next, trying to be clever – a pointless endeavour. Do you do minted lamb chops? I bet she doesn’t. He smirked at Gina. I suspected he thought this was a very stylish and rare dish that a layperson had never heard of. Don’t be daft, you’re coming in. Is that for us? She pointed a very long and manicured nail at the torte. The author has taken creative liberties in crafting the story, including the development of characters, dialogues, and plotlines. I am so looking forward to reading more books by you! I really shouldn’t, I don’t have long, I’ve left the kids …" I started to turn around but she wasn’t having it. She threw a long brown arm around my shoulders and ushered me into the house.

I was drenched in Scouse saliva, had lost my dignity thanks to Tesco putting too many bubbles in their shit plonk and I had never felt so plain and ugly in my life. My house was a shithole and my eyebrows were, quite frankly, substandard. I had spent half an hour of my Friday night feeling incredibly uncomfortable with a couple of morons who I had absolutely nothing in common with but, here’s the thing, a curveball if you will, I sort of liked them. The FamI imagined I was talking to my son when he was three days old and spoke very slowly and deliberately. Gina sat next to me on her pink velvet sofa, she sat very close and I could feel her analysing me. I’m a Botox nurse, Raquel, got my own clinic in town. Matt’s a professional gobshite aren’t you, luv?

An “overthinker” by nature, Raquel has a penchant for wine that might be slightly more generous than it should be. Over the course of one summer, she unwittingly sets in motion a catastrophic series of events that could only be rectified by a miracle. Cataloged under Civil War, 1861-1865, pensions, indexes; does not say if Confederate or Federal, but probably Federal. Negative film, some cards much too faint or dark to read, some cards blurred or faded, particularly the service unit and the dates of application. Most of the very faint or dark cards were in a slightly different format, with space for years enlisted and discharged which were sometimes filled in. Many of these were for service in later years, although one or two were for service ca 1866. Manual of the North Reformed Church, Newark, N.J." (Essex Co.) (anonymous); pub. I am Raquel from across the road.Autumn is upon us and there’s no better time to curl up with a book and “23” is a cosy crime caper which as it happens is also very funny. Set near Manchester there are some proper LOL lines and twists to keep you entertained. chronicles a summer of self-destruction, proving that even for those over forty, hormonal, and slightly bored, life can take unexpected and often hilarious turns. His shoulders still shook for a good two minutes afterwards. Essex County, N.J., illustrated : a souvenir in which is presented a brief sketch of the early settlement of Essex County ..." by M.H.C. Hardman (LH 1545, HeritageQuest images 5/2007; FHL fiche 6,046,120) Well, when you see an article about food – like perhaps a piece in the Mail on Sunday about aubergines – I could have possibly written that.I work in IT actually Raq, all very boring, just a desk job in town. He clearly had no interest in his job which was bloody marvellous because I did not want to hear about it. Nobody who works in IT should ever talk about working in IT to a non-IT person. It’s just rude. Also very presumptuous to chop my name in half without asking, I noted. Her friendly gesture towards the new neighbours across the road is where it all begins. Little does she know that this seemingly innocent act of neighbourliness could unravel her world. This is no doubt the most funniest book I have read in a while (thanks to the northern humour). There are a lot of laugh out loud moments, and the author NJ Miller brings a lot of wit and details into the story. I loved Raquel, even though at times I wanted to tell her to stop. Her mother's one liner are hilarious. I just felt like I was right in the middle of the situation with the family. One afternoon, Raquel decides to involve her new neighbours Gina & Matt into one of her food writing projects. Spending a little bit too much time with Matt teaching him how to cook healthy food from scratch. Just one silly mistake triggered a chain of events that could land her behind bars, leaving her with no choice but to turn to her eccentric and annoying family for help.
