About this deal

The rather brilliant bootleg double album One More Night -Live at Southampton. As recorded on this day at Southampton University. ROBERT PLANT & SAVING GRACE ON THE SPOT TOUR UK TOUR REPORTS/LZ NEWS/ELECTRIC MAGIC 52 YEARS GONE/PETER GRANT/KNEBWORTH BOOK LAUNCH TEN YEARS GONE/ BEATLES WHITE ALBUM/VICTORIA VIP RECORD FAIR/ DL DIARY BLOG UPDATE It went to attain legendary status – the most played record on American radio and from 1975 the rightful finale to every Led Zeppelin live performance. Reading his descriptions in that Recording Sessions book of the multiple takes that survive in the archive was absolutely fascinating – and none more so that the expansive coverage of the recording of what would become the White Album. At the time of reading the book, I marveled at how privileged Mark had been to hear all that amazing music being made as it happened. There’s no doubt that Led Zeppelin’s Earls Court appearances represented a career high for the band and four decades on, are still held in the highest esteem by the vast following.

The whole evening is wonderfully summed up by the excited comment of one of the elder generation of Zep fans here tonight.

Now we have so much more of it to enjoy with the arrival of The Beatles White Album remastered reissue. Robert’s sings the final line we all know so well and it echoes across the eerie wastes of Earls Court…and into eternity…

Some things I do remember, its only a small venue and the lighting rig came way out into the audience. Also, that night when Robert walked out onstage he had the most amazing presence about him (no pun intended)- and you just knew it was going to be a very special night. Hearing him play some Zep material (having not done so the previous times I had seen him) was just the icing on the cake. It’s akin to a whole symphony greater than the sum of its parts – take any song away and it loses its thread. Here are ten notable performances from January 1975 that demonstrate the band striving to give it their all after a lengthy period away from the stage……and despite some physical restrictions.

Tonight we intend to cover the spectrum of a lot of the varying music that we’ve been doing for the last seven years. As we go though this spectrum we want to include some of the new stuff from Physical Graffiti, the LP that comes out soon” (love Robert’s use of the word LP – so quaint). And in doing so they reunited the people of Belfast just as the real thing had done on a similar cold Irish night 30 years ago. It was simply remarkable. Robert’s moving ‘’Dear PEOPLE can you hear the wind blow and did you know – OUR stairway lies on the whispering wind’. March 21-24– John Paul Jones will perform at the Big Ears music festival in Knoxville, Tennessee both as a solo act and as part of Sons Of Chipotle. Led Zeppelin Five Glorious Nights – Revised & Expanded Edition- is a complete privilege to have received. The book drives me directly into Earl’s Court. A riveting and a compelling account of the legendary Led Zeppelin shows. The images and descriptions create a vision of the prestigious evenings that took place in 1975. “Just a little world to get lost in occasionally” as Robert Plant stated. This was the first live public airing of the song since the Led Zeppelin 02 Reunion on December 10 2007.
