About this deal

In a personal, hilarious and honest account of his own life, Bradley is joined by his nearest and dearest celebrity friends to tell the incredible story of his life and career. It was so great to see him last night and have a few laughs ( in the photo with my brother Chris Osceola). We will include all four songs recorded during those final sessions, as well as both sides of the "You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything" single. But still a work of art, Jenn from RockTheJacket who took some of our photos on Valentines night wore this stunning jacket to the show . Stewart, obviously, was not pleased with the results, and spoke his mind about the album in a Melody Maker interview.

Smiler – Rolling Stone

This is the life of an incredible entertainer and national treasure – the one and only Bradley Walsh tells his own story. The tape has been consigned from music and PR man, Jonathan Rowlands, who at the time was managing Rod Stewart. Hard to know where it went wrong, the energy of the tracks is high, rod sings his arse off too - none clearer than on the opening chuck berry track. Rod said this week: “Delighted to see that they’ve chosen our version of Curtis Mayfield’s song ‘People Get Ready’ with my old mate Jeff Beck to be on the official King’s Coronation playlist. well, she wanted me to sing a Rod song for her birthday and I can’t sing Rod so I came up with this duet of a Rod song…did it last night [Monday]… here’s youtube video and some pics from the party and she has a Rod room. The Faces ‘Borstal Boys’ features on a new 3 CD compilation “A Celebration Of Yob Rock” That will be released by Cherry Red on May 19th. I suppose Stewart had backed himself into a creative cul-de-sac with this, the fourth album in a similar style and to be fair "Atlantic Crossing", made for an acceptable change of style and direction, but I'd sooner listen to this hit and miss set than any other full album he's made since. I guess it might be down to the fact that the covers are not such a great choice this time, apart from maybe the affectionate sam cooke medley (one of rods biggest influences). He gave us the thumbs up and we thought ‘Let’s do this for Cash for Kids’ as it felt like the right thing to do.

Penny told The Daily Telegraph: ‘First of all he had empathy towards me and how I was suffering from it. However, instead of keeping those tunes for use in their next studio album, Rod and Ronnie show off the level of disinterest they had in the band, and put them alongside other non-Faces tracks, recorded during the same sessions, and release two solo albums, "Smiler" and "I've Got My Own Album to Do", respectively. Starting off things is "You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything", the final single the band released while they were together in November 1974.

Tim told us this week “Lots more to do bulking up and then adding detail” So don’t worry Yve Paige his hair is not finished yet! Ok , Thank you so much for taking time out of your hectic schedule, good luck with next Vegas residency and the new Rod album. Smiler suffered a poor critical reception mostly because Stewart’s first four solo albums — The Rod Stewart Album, Gasoline Alley, Every Picture Tells A Story and Never a Dull Moment — were of such high quality.
