About this deal

In my teens I began writing short stories, articles, a few radio plays, and entering writing competitions. The drama is a focus point towards the end and I wanted more time with the girls as they neared the end of their stay with Cathy - the story moved towards the adults. For all ebook purchases, you will be prompted to create an account or login with your existing HarperCollins username and password. I hope that readers can accept this saddening story for what it is and acknowledge that when false allegations are made it can be devastating to the family.

I also worked closely with the police on abuse cases and understand why social workers cannot share all the information discovered during the assessment process. I just hope that the readers don’t think that is the norm and shy away from these important roles out of fear. Yes I'm sure sometimes children lie but it is extremely rare compared to how many children are actually being abused. I suppose the only interesting part was that it occurred during 2020 COVID pandemic so the author perhaps wanted to document how strange life was then.

Through all the obstacles and traumas she just carries on giving the best care that she can possibly give.

It's making me not want to continue with the book, especially as the last few stories have felt lacklustre and like she's running out of content. In my opinion, they should have questioned the teenager and her boyfriend way more in depth early on and months of separation for the other two kids could have been avoided.

The police and social services have no choice but to remove two-year-old Jamey from home after his mother leaves him alone all night to go out partying. Even more worrying, she will be brought to Cathy with a police escort as it’s vital her extended family don’t know where she is. She could have been prosecuted for wasting police time because of the lies she told, but she received a warning instead and accepts she did wrong.

Cathy instantly began labelling Tim with names although as a Foster carer she shouldn't have been using those titles. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. They loved their mummy and daddy and seemed to have been well cared for, but their older half-sister Ashleigh, had accused their father of raping her. One of the things that captivates me about her books is that the stories she tells are not isolated. They didn’t have evidence to support the claim and I think they could have gotten there way earlier. Now, when I read a new Cathy Glass book or listen to her stories on Audible, I don't feel like I'm reading a book, I feel as though I am reconnecting with an old friend. But gradually they began to settle and as they did they talked more of life at home where there were a lot of arguments between Ashleigh and their parents. I just felt that I needed to say that as a reminder and I would have liked for that to have been mentioned by Cathy to her readers in the epilogue along with the acknowledgment that false allegations occur.
