About this deal

Another artisanal bitters brand, Bittercube provides creative bitters that can turn many favorite cocktails into spectacular new drinks. Well, it has a unique flavor profile that's both sweet and bitter, with notes of anise, cherry, and clove. Made with rye whiskey, Peychaud's bitters, sugar, and a rinse of absinthe, it's a deceptively simple cocktail that packs a punch. Some modern bitters are made with vegetable glycerin [2] instead, allowing those avoiding alcohol to enjoy them.

The Fernet Sazerac is a unique twist on the classic Sazerac cocktail that swaps out absinthe for Fernet Branca, a bitter Italian digestive with saffron notes. Bittermens has captured the rich and tropical blend of flavors and condensed them into a few drops of bitters. Designed as aperitifs or digestifs, liquors such as Aperol, Campari, Cynar, and Fernet Branca have a dominant bitter taste. If you're looking for a cocktail with a little bit of history and a lot of flavor, the Vieux Carré is definitely worth a try. This cocktail is made with Sazerac Rye, Peychaud’s Bitters, Herbsaint, a sugar cube, and a lemon peel.Pioneering mixologist Jerry Thomas was largely responsible for an increase in the popularity of bitters in the United States when he released How to Mix Drinks or The Bon-Vivant's Companion in 1862. The name "Vieux Carré" means "old square" in French, and this cocktail certainly has an old-world charm to it. And Gaz Regan, the founder and creator of this bitters brand, even suggests using those bitters in aged Rum or Sloe Gin cocktails.

Originally made with Cognac, the cocktail was later switched to Rye Whiskey due to the scarcity of grape-based spirits during the phylloxera epidemic. Peychauds bitters are a key ingredient in many cocktails, and are especially popular in Old Fashioned cocktails. Now that you have an idea of which bitters to try in your Old Fashioned, you may want to find the perfect Whiskey base, as well. If you’re looking for something a little more refreshing, you might want to try the New Orleans Fizz. If you are looking to make the perfect Old Fashioned cocktail, be sure to include Peychauds bitters in the recipe.
