About this deal

If your audio keeps skipping, stopping or generally playing up, you could have an issue with wireless interference from other devices in your home. One way to reduce this interference is to switch the wireless channel that your Sonos system is using. Two Sonos Ones can be combined to create a stereo pair capable of filling a room with hi-fi-like focus, and for the money that would be quite an accomplished little system. When the One launched, we thought it a shame that you couldn't form a stereo pair consisting of one One and one Play:1 – after all, buying two smart speakers for one room feels like overkill – but at least you can now pair aOneand One SL in stereo. De Sonos-app combineert al je content en instellingen voor een moeiteloze ervaring. Je kunt ook je stem, Apple AirPlay 2 en meer gebruiken. If you thought time would have aged the Play:1, think again. It remains a great-sounding wireless speaker, and a decent passage into multi-room for those on a tight budget. Sonos is also less closed-off than it used to be. Until 2016, all music selection for your Play:1 had to be done through the Sonos app.

On top of that Sonos has released the Boost, which is like a turbo-powered Bridge delivering, as Sonos says, “enterprise-grade wireless capabilities”. Most homes will be fine with Wi-Fi or a Bridge, but for difficult environments, the Boost ensures that Sonos will work everywhere. It makes using Sonos feel much more natural, particularly if you, say, use Spotify on your phone on the way to work. The sound and acoustic properties of One and One SL are identical. Inside are two Class-D digital amplifiers, one mid-woofer and one tweeter, and together they create a likeable soundstage that is best described as both warm and precise. There’s bass, but not too much, and there’s enough power for high volume, high octane music, but always without distortion. It also treats spoken word very well; the One SL is a great all-rounder. While arguably looking a little outdated stood next to the more recently redesigned Play:5, the Play:1's solid, sleek design stands the test of time.

Sonos is the premier smart sound system that makes it easy to enjoy all your content where and how you want. Immerse yourself in music, movies, and more with support for 24-bit lossless audio² and Dolby Atmos.³

We’d recommend going to the effort of TruePlay tuning the One with a compatible iPhone or iPad if you have one, as it opens the sound up. Unfortunately for Google users, TruePlay via Android devices isn't supported for the One – only for the Era 100 and Era 300 speakers. If you’re worried that having Dancing In The Street blaring from your One will prevent Alexa or the Google Assistant from hearing your request to skip Dancing In The Street, a combination of noise cancelling, something called “smart voice capture” and a custom-designed six-microphone array ensures that you can always be heard. The Sonos Play:1, Sonos One and Sonos One SL all feature two Class-D digital amplifiers, one tweeter for high-frequency response and one mid-woofer for mid-range vocal frequencies and bass so the sound performance offered between these devices is solid across the board. There have been no changes to the features or functionality of the Sonos One SL, though the new model will only work with the S2 Sonos app.] Price and availability Control your system from any room. Start the music, adjust the volume, and group or ungroup speakers. The Sonos Play:1 is easily the most accessible speaker Sonos has made, though. It’s the prettiest, the smallest and the cheapest.

Make sure you’re in the room you want to tune – a red dot should appear next to the room name if it hasn’t been tuned yet about the speaker, nothing but good!!.but the app it has NO smb 2. or rather 3 support and that in 2021. outrageous!!! Unsurprisingly, you can also use the One as a surround speaker for a Sonos Beam, Arc, PlayBase or PlayBar-based system, with or without a subwoofer. The Sonos Amp also allows you to create a 4.1 system, with a phantom centre channel, from a pair of wired front speakers and a pair of Ones acting as surrounds. The Sonos Play:1 is not like most other small wireless speakers. It doesn’t use Bluetooth, is not portable and won’t even take a 3.5mm plug to accept a non-wireless source.Others take a different approach. For example, the Riva Arena sounds a lot more detailed and refined than the Sonos Play:1 at low volumes. It has a more hifi-like timbre, and greater finesse. If you don't value the voice assistant, you may be perfectly happy with the One SL. There are also the Sonos Move and Roam portable Bluetooth/wi-fi speakers to consider, of course. And the new Era 100 is a very decent option if you have a bit more cash to splash and would benefit from its extra Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity options and bigger, more insightful sound. Tap Add on the popup showing your Sonos product. If using the Sonos S1 Controller, tap Continue> Set up products. Be sure to move around as much of the room as possible during the tuning process to cover the whole space. You’ll need to grant Sonos permission to use the microphone on your device for Trueplay to work so make sure you’ve agreed to that in your settings.
