I rewatched some of those moments again having read her perspective and was amazed all over again that England won the Euros. There might be some things that were lacking in some areas—writing, characterisation, plot etc, but there may have been a few moments that I liked. I also loved how open and honest she was with the harder side of football, and the harder side of stepping outside of your comfort zone.Beth Mead is one of the world's most talented footballers - Golden Boot winner and Player of the Tournament at the UEFA Euro 2022, England Player of the Year 2021-22, Arsenal Player of the Season 2021-22, and runner-up for the 2022 Ballon d'Or. There maybe have been a few things that bothered me while reading this book but for the most parts the likes outweigh the dislikes. Beth takes a dive into her own personal life and what has happened over her career which helps her strive to be the best player, she takes difficult events in her life and uses them to power her mentality for the game.

I really enjoyed reading this book, I could not put it down and stayed up far too late to finish it. The book starts with a dark time in Beth's life, then goes back to her childhood, her family, and of course, her start in football till the current day.

It's inspiring, well-written, and filled with anecdotes of some of the most important moments in Beth Mead's life– from signing with her now-club Arsenal to winning the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 with England's Lionesses– and everything in between. I found out from this book that men receive new football boots EVERY game, while women are expected to play with the same ones until they can’t anymore? I love Beth Mead and I became especially fascinated by her during the Euros when she ended up being the top scorer. It was so fascinating to revisit the Euros but from Beth’s perspective, finding out what exactly was going on in the background of the very games I watched on TV. Beth Mead was the standout player from the England team, although to read her story you will be struck by just how humble she is.

It wasn’t until the Lionesses started winning in the Euros that I started watching their training and interviews on YouTube - something that I do regularly with the men even though they share the “England” channel.The journey to European Champion and Player of the Tournament wasn’t easy, success didn’t come without challenges and perseverance.
