About this deal
The supporting characters (Dimitri, Odessa and Mila) were also as detailed and complex, with their own tragic pasts that did tug at my heartstrings more than once. I did happen to guess the killer’s identity, but I did not see that ending coming AT ALL. And I need to get my hands on the sequel immediately! I didn’t love Gods & Monsters, so my expectations weren’t very high of this book, but I could not put it down! The tension, the angst, the chemistry, it was insane, and I loved the slowburn throughout this book! If slowburn as a romance trope isn’t your thing, this might not be for you, but I ate it up! There’s even a murder mystery plotline ongoing, which had me on the edge of my seat, and also was able to bring in some fantastic scenes between Celie and the love interest.
This dark and thrilling vampire romance—set in the world of the New York Times bestselling Serpent & Dove series—is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas!
Did we miss something on diversity?
Here I am yet again begging readers to read the original trilogy before jumping to its spin off series.
Starting off my final review for the final book of this series by saying that I am extremely worried about the fact that this book is going to give me some brain damage. The setting changes this time, the real action doesn't happen in the city of Cesarine anymore but on a beautiful island full of vampires with colourful and various personalities, called the Isle of Requiem.
