About this deal

I'm a person who's luckily had a pretty easy time of it aswell but I know that's not common and I feel he's in real danger of alienating and patronising his audience. She currently teaches childbirth classes for Great Starts with the Parent Trust organization in Seattle, WA. If you have any experience with mindfulness yoga or meditation, you may find this too basic for you. A lot of this was interesting but I was looking for something more specific to mental health in pregnancy (and I'd already dabbled with the Headspace app) so, sadly, I did not find what I was looking for in this book. Nor does it tell parents what to expect in the hospital right after the baby is born if that is where they are birthing.

Regarding meditation, Donegan states “your baby is less likely to be born prematurely and is more likely to experience healthy brain functions due to your reduced stress” (p. Organised trimester by trimester, this audiobook gives you safe yoga, meditation, natural remedies, nutritional and hypnobirthing advice and techniques to match your stage of pregnancy and the development of your baby. Now founder of Headspace, Andy Puddicombe, teaches you how to remain mindful during pregnancy, childbirth and the early days of parenthood. I mean, it's sweet, but also really annoying because she comes across as perfect in non-helpful ways. Widely acknowledged as one of the world's foremost experts on mindfulness, Andy Puddicombe, co - founder of Headspace, is your friendly guide in this wonderful new approach to pregnancy, birth and new parenthood.

The first thing that stood out to me when I opened Mindful Pregnancy was the beautiful design of the book. However, I can't really say right now if that would help, but Andy's voice is very soothing and I felt a bit reassured afterwards, which is always a good thing. If you find mindfulness helpful, then this book about how to apply it to fertility, pregnancy, parenthood, and loss seems pretty useful, and I'd definitely recommend it. The study, published in the journal BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, also indicates that mindfulness may help decrease women’s symptoms of prenatal and postpartum depression.

My little girl is a very busy two year old and I have been able to get through the first two chapters easily.

Born in Ireland, Tracy has lived and worked on three continents and currently lives in Silicon Valley, California with her husband and two boys. It wasn't an earth shattering amazing book, but I enjoyed it and has helped me stay in a nice centered place. It is inspiring to witness a mother with extreme fear of childbirth cancel an elective caesarian because she now feels confident enough in her own strength to go through the birthing process,” said one mindfulness teacher. More a book on meditation/mindfulness with the word pregnancy slapped on the cover - not what I expected at all.Not all mindfulness involves meditation; you can also become more mindful by noticing the way moods and bodily sensations fluctuate throughout the day. Spending time with my own curiosity was highly instructive: since we might only have one child, it might be the only time I experience these feelings. On one hand it is a beautiful looking book and contains some good info on yoga poses, nutrition and mindfulness practices, yet it also came across as preachy and at times dangerous.
