About this deal

The only thing that I LOVED about the first half was Storm’s relationship with a wonderful Plesiosaur named Milo who lives in a Loch near Storm, on Earthasia. Only for the past nine years, since the start of the “Trials” (which I will get to in sweet time) have they begun to get some sort of information about how the dinosaurs live? It was simple, but I felt this was a perfect end to their story, and left it nicely open for the sequel.

Again, it’s not the best book ever written in the world, and it hasn’t changed my life or anything, but it was really entertaining and I had so much fun reading it. On the whole it was an enjoyable read and I'm really curious how everything will come to a close in the second book!M. Wilson has been able to achieve with her first young adult title is nothing short of brilliant, the book is engaging, fast paced, deals with many issues of culture and class divides and of how we look after the world; all issues that could be compared to a society we live in today, all wrapped up with a wonderful dystopian vibe. My favourite character in this book was Storm because she loves dinosaurs and she is never fearful about anything. I liked this feature because it would be cool if the dinosaurs still existed and it is so realistic that I felt as if I could just jump into the pages of the book and live the life of Stormchaser. Alone, on Earthasia because her mother has died and she has no other family…… she has quite a shield around her. Some of the characters hate the dinosaurs and want nothing more than to see them all dead, others are interested but rightfully wary and a few believe that the dinosaurs should be treated just as the humans would want to be: with respect.

My absolute favourite character died in this book, which means I now have to continue this series reading characters I didn’t particularly like in the first place. Books that you may also like; The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner, Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman, The Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness. I’m really not a big dinosaur fan (except Land Before Time haha) but this book sounds really cool so I might keep an eye out for it!there normally not friendly bot milo the plesiosaur sounded friendly to me and when I was reading I could picture the story in my head! An all out action book that doesn’t skimp on the story or plot, with characters that endear themselves to the reader this is a page turner that anyone can enjoy. This is a dangerous place as it is the home of the dinosaurs, where previous finalists have failed to come back. Okay, so a hundred people cover a lot of ground, okay, they are eventually gonna divide themselves into teams, and okay sending a whole lot of people to what is essentially a suicide mission once every year is a great idea in the grand scheme of things (the less people, the better) but why do you have to make it a “trial”?

Anyways, Earthasia is desolate, they're running out of food, space, there's no health care, yada yada, normal dystopian YA shit. That is one heck of a big statement to make and so I was REALLY excited to get into this book and see if it lived up to my high expectations and I am absolutely THRILLED to say that it did just that and MORE. Their only chance is to join an expedition to a deadly country to steal the eggs of vicious dinosaurs.
