There’s a lot that goes on in the Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. More than can fit into a single board game. So, expansions are here. And that’s what we get in Star Wars: Outer Rim: Unfinished Business. Here is an example of a new databank card for Boba Fett, one of the playable characters from the base game, now in crew form. Completing a character’s personal goal not only gives you more fame, it allows you to flip your character card over and receive an even more powerful ability!
The original bounty tokens in the main game were green and yellow and only accessible when you land on planets. Now, Unfinished Business puts the third token in play with an orange token that is only accessible when you land on a planet because it lies on a planet. The original two tokens laid beside the planet, but this one guarantees an encounter of some sort when you land on a planet. It still hides the tokens, in case you’re hunting a bounty, but it makes the token discovery experience far less empty. I only say empty because I didn’t know how good it was until it was included. The more bounties and potential crew, the better. Also, you’re no longer confined to the titular Outer Rim, you can now head off to the core worlds held by the Empire. The core worlds are basically 2 new map pieces that sit at either end of the board. They give you 2 new places to have encounters, but they also allow you to zip across to the other side of the board in less than 5 parsecs. This can be quite useful as the patrol ships can’t follow you, so you can use it as a chance to escape their grasp. But as the core worlds are under Imperial control you may be in for a rough time if you’ve got a negative reputation with them. A skill test sees you rolling two dice—identical to the dice featured in X-Wing and fully compatible with that game—to determine if your job or encounter is successful. Your odds depend on your character and crew: Lando Calrissian may excel at rigging a game of sabacc, but IG-88 is more likely blast a hole in an organic! We shined a spotlight on some of these characters during our two livestreams for Unfinished Business. Encounter Step – The active player resolves a single encounter, usually by drawing an encounter card corresponding to their space. Unfinished Business is a wonderful addition to the original Star Wars: Outer Rim set. It brings more variety, more characters, and a new layer of intrigue and action to the overall experience. Star Wars Outer Rim was a game that took me pleasantly by surprise when I first played it. I wasn’t expecting much but it offered a surprising amount of depth and a sort of reminded me of a combination of Xia: Legends of a Drift System and with a few aspects of Eldritch Horror mixed in and then all wrapped up in a Star Wars Theme. The Outer Rim Unfinished Business expansion is here to make a new and added excitement. Return Of The Scruffy Looking Nerf Herder Encounter Step – If you don’t encounter anyone willingly, such as trying to secure a bounty, or you haven’t run into an organization along the space road that would fight your ship, then you must do another encounter via a Navpoints card. This card proposes a situation, and you must conquer said situation or pay the price. You will never end this three-step process without an encounter, so don’t try to weasel your way out.
You’ve made a name for yourself in the Outer Rim, but there is still Unfinished Business. Hyperlanes through the Core Worlds hold the promise of untapped opportunities. The market is flush with new merchandise, from valuable cargo to tools of the trade. Just watch your step; the latest crop of bounties is even deadlier, and your rivals are looking to take you down!Fantasy Flight’s tease for Unfinished Business revealed the expansion’s title and cover artwork, but stopped short of explaining what the box will actually bring to the core game. While Outer Rim generally attracted praise for its gameplay and use of the Star Wars universe, criticism typically concerned the limited number of events and cards in the base set - leading to calls for an expansion to add replayability and variety shortly after release. Yet since its release in 2019, gamers have been clamoring for an expansion. Finally, 3 years later their wish was granted in the form of Star Wars: Outer Rim – Unfinished Business. Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Unfinished Business, the long-awaited expansion for Star Wars™: Outer Rim! These tokens are ok. I never really found myself trading and negotiating that much when I played. There is very little incentive to help your opponents as you’re basically helping them beat you. I’m happy they are here though as it does give you that extra option to help get out of a tight spot you find yourself in.
In Outer Rim, you take on the role of an underworld denizen, setting out to make your mark on the galaxy. On The Edge
Star Wars: Outer Rim was already a phenomenal board game that provided hours upon hours of exciting adventures for players around the world. Now, with Unfinished Business adding more content and expanding upon what made the base game so great, it seems that the legend of this game will only continue to grow. You can look forward to once again flying through the Outer Rim when Unfinished Business lands in stores this summer! First and foremost is a spread of new ships, such as the scrappy Rogue -Class Porax-38 Starfighter and the rebellious VCX-100 Light Freighter
SCRIPT, because setting up the game is not necessarly the best part I added 2 scripts to help in your task In addition to a brief shout-out to Level Up Dice and their awesome upcoming dice for the game, we also teased a sculpt from an upcoming expansion, Ghosts of Greyhaven. This expansion is a side-story that can be incorporated into your Act I campaign or played as a standalone adventure. Act II is still a ways off, but development is going smoothly, and in the meantime fans of Descent can look forward to Ghosts of Greyhaven to tide them over! Six new ships are added to the game including the Jumpmaster 5000 which can be upgraded to Dengar’s Punishing One, a Rogue class Porax-38 starfighter which can upgrade to Cad Bane’s Xanadu Blood, and a VCX-100 light freighter which upgrades to the Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels. Both favors and ambitions are fantastic additions to the game and provide serious ways of shaking up the gameplay. Just be careful—once you play using one or both of these optional rules, you may find yourself never wanting to play without them again! Business as Usual We also plan to rerelease some (but not all) of the game’s cycles in the same fashion as we are for Arkham Horror LCG, with all player cards in a Player Expansion and all other cards in a Campaign Expansion. This is all to help new players get into this fantastic game as easily as possible. Look forward to more information on this initiative in the coming months!

Action Step – Here, the active player may perform any number of actions, including buying cards from a communal marketplace and delivering cargo and bounties. Star Wars: Outer Rim – Unfinished Business is the expansion for the main game. This expands the original game with new characters to choose from, adding previously mentioned monikers and goals to shoot for, and provides an easy getaway from organization starships that you might run into along the space path. This also provides more detailed missions, more bounties, more ships, and more goodies in the market. It’s a great expansion and stays true to enhancing the experience and making it more than just another Star Wars game. That said, let’s break it down a bit. Planning Step – During this step, the active player may gain credits, move across the galaxy, or recover all of their damage.
