About this deal

As long as you’ve a level surface and easy access to mains power, getting from ‘opening the box’ to ‘listening to some tunes’ is a job that won’t take long - even setting the counterweight is the work of just a moment or two. by appointment browsing is available if you are unable to get in for our standard opening hours, please contact using the form above.

At the rear of the turntable there are spring-clips for connecting the deck to its partnering speakers, and a pair of stereo RCA outputs. and compatibility with SBC and AAC codecs – hardly the cutting edge, but more than adequate for the majority of users the majority of the time. The amount of amplification that’s built in, meanwhile, is not a number that the company is prepared to divulge. That means spring clips for speaker cable, a switch for the integrated phono stage (in case you want to make use of the C62’s RCA outputs to connect the deck to an external amp or powered speakers) and a power on/off switch. I'm new to vinyl, and ultimately what I like about this is that it looks and feels like some turntables that cost hundreds of dollars more. Then it’s just a question of fiddling with the anti-skate control, connecting the supplied (and brief) lengths of bog-standard speaker cable to the turntable at one end and the speakers at the other, and plugging into the mains. And everyone knows someone who’s used a Crosley product as a gateway drug to a lifetime of audio appreciation… so where does the C62 fit into all of this?

Negative wires will be black (if wires are the same color, these wires will have lines/dashes to differentiate) and connects to the black inputs. Bass is woefully curtailed and lacks both presence and definition, while at the opposite end of the frequency range the Crosley achieves what until now I’d considered to be ‘the impossible’: treble sounds are simultaneously dull and sibilant. Singers sound barely present, and the overall lack of detail retrieval sucks any animation or character from vocal performances - and there’s just a little hint of the phasiness that becomes more obvious the higher up the frequency range we venture. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Created with an eye for interior design the (ready to go, straight out of the box) C62 record player and speakers have a black veneer finish and a matt black aluminium tonearm with counter weight. Set up took about 10 minutes and would have taken five, but I'd never "floated" or balanced a tonearm. If you have recently purchased a replacement power adaptor from a third party, it could have the wrong polarity for your turntable. First, everything you need is in the box; speakers, turntable, turntable mat, speaker wires and needle.

There’s next-to-no dynamic variation in the way it presents a recording, no light and shade in the individual sounds and certainly no real body or assertiveness to the overall presentation.Whether you live in a sweet NYC loft or a teenage bedroom filled with angst, the C62 can hold its own. But there’s certainly nothing wrong with the way the laminate walnut wrap is applied, nor with the way everything is put together. The speakers included are actually pretty good size, and I was amazed when we plugged just the turntable in to our larger system how rich the sound was.

There’s not much plastic here, it’s a very heavy solid steel turntable platter, nice metal switch gear, aluminum tonearm and wood body for the turntable and speakers. So while there are systems from the likes of 1 By One (visually very similar to the C62), Victrola (a kind of pre-war stereogram vibe) and Looptone (like a trolley-dash around Tandy), we’ve yet to hear them and so must reserve judgement. Those little loudspeakers are a passive, two-way design – so they are, admittedly, just as they appear to be. And yet the C62’s treble response is dull and rolled off while simultaneously managing to seem edgy and thin.If your receiver has an “AUX input” it will connect to Line output or “Phono input” it will connect to Phono output.
