About this deal
However, I had the opportunity to spend a few days Up North and decided Town Yetholm caravan site would be a good place to base myself. All in all, I'd say it offers better value for money than many competitive products costing a lot more – particularly those designed to attach to campervans. A simple instruction to loosen the straps prior to erecting would have saved us about twenty minutes of toil, and would have saved us from putting unnecessary strain on the structure. This tent is certainly not meant for living in as headroom is at a premium, I ended up with an achy back hunched over my stove in the offset porch as me fancying a brew and a light shower happened to coincide. Having now had my hands on this Coleman Fastpitch event shelter, I can confirm that this is a really well made product.
Attaching the inner is pretty simple, at the foot end attach two hooks at the bottom then toggles, same with the entry end.I do have an old 2-man ridge tent but dome tents give you so much more usable space and I’ll definitely be using this tent again for car camping. The tent has only two fibreglass poles making it pretty easy to erect the outer first and then the inner main part of the tent can be clipped in place. Reasonably easy for 2 people to put up although we struggled a bit to get a couple of the poles through where the stitching was a bit tight.
Fantastic headroom is provided by the curved, cross-pole construction, while four zip-away doors, all with full height mesh panels can be used in multiple ways.Low and angled down enough to take strong winds with ease, you loose out on headroom but its no problem getting changed inside. As the guys form part of the structure you can't move it once pitched (not freestanding) so you do want to be sure your in the right direction, head uphill etc, before you dully commit to your location.
