About this deal

Ewing, Sarah (11 September 2009). "Fame & Fortune: BBC wildlife expert Kate Humble"– via www.telegraph.co.uk. In this special episode of Escape to the Farm, it’s time to hunker down with animals and friends before winter arrives.

We drive there and try to go for a month so we’d love to do that this year if we can. We go feral. I don’t wear any clothes, we cook on fires, we swim in the lake and it’s absolute heaven. It’s a very gentle programme in a beautiful place with inspiring people, lovely animals and nice food that’s really easy to cook… because I’m cooking it! Has Covid affected what you and husband Ludo Graham had planned? Humble presented The Blue Planet Live! on the 2008 UK tour at Wembley Arena, St David's Hall in Cardiff and at Symphony Hall in Birmingham. [13] Humble by Nature is home to a working farm, rural skills centre and delightful holiday accommodation. Owned by broadcaster Kate Humble, it’s based in Penallt 10 mins outside Monmouth in the Wye Valley. There are compelling reasons to holiday in the UK, not least the environmental one. The first series of Escape To The Farm was very popular…

Katherine Mary Humble [1] (born 12 December 1968) [2] is an English television presenter and narrator, mainly working for the BBC, specialising in wildlife and science programmes. Humble served as president of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) from 2009 until 2013. [3] [4] She is an ambassador for the UK walking charity Living Streets. [5] Early life and education [ edit ] In August 2009, Humble presented a series of programmes for the BBC in which she made a two thousand mile journey across the Middle East, following the ancient frankincense trade route of Arabia which first connected the Arab world with the West. The series culminates in her presenting frankincense, that she has carried throughout the journey, to be used in a Christmas service at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. [19] As our time spent in office buildings and other traditional workplaces shrinks forevermore, feeling happy, healthy, productive and content in our homes (be they castles or caravans, flat-shares or farms, fixed or temporary, inner city/out of town/beyond) is more important to get right than ever before. Where the Hearth Is will resonate with all those seeking to make the most of their lives during the many hours we all spend at home – whether it’s a case of tiny adjustments while staying put, moving out, living differently or dreaming of building something new. Humble is a naturist who "likes to get closer to nature by being naked". [31] About being naked, she says "There's something joyous about it, and I urge everyone to try it". [31] [32] On 3 October 2009, Humble was appointed president of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. [3] In 2013, Humble was succeeded as President of the RSPB by Miranda Krestovnikoff. [4]And what of that talking bench, playing harp music to hilltop visitors? That is part of an exciting new venture for Wild Skies Shetland, the Unst Sky Trail. This trail takes you to 13 beautiful spots in Unst, at each one inviting you to read and think about a different aspect of the skies – Shetland dialect is featured, along with some astronomy, Viking history and meteorology.
