About this deal

So once a child has learned to say a few basic words, it’s time for us to start expanding their vocabulary to include a range of words. When we start little ones off with language we normally teach them simple nouns, names, places or things… Our very popular first words flashcards are the perfect flashcards for babies and toddlers starting to speak their first words. To help introduce your children to even more important pieces of vocabulary, we’ve put together this Question Words Display Poster! Whether your child has just begun to speak or is old enough to start reading and writing, this fun poster is a fun and simple way to teach children important words they’ll use throughout their lives. First up, a really fun way of introducing babies and toddlers to commonly-used words is by playing CVC Word Bingo! It helps children to forge links between words and images in a way that’s fun and engaging for them. Some words are easier for babies and young children to say than others, so it makes sense that there are a few words that are common as their first. Here is a short list of some of the most popular that your baby might say.

Create your own FREE Twinkl account to discover even more fantastic resources! What can I expect to find in this high frequency word cards resource? Print the set and c ut the cards away from one another. You may want to laminate the cards to make them durable. This will help preserve them from little hands. If you are using these in a classroom or for repeated use y ou can also laminate the recording sheet to make the activity reusable – students can use dry erase markers or crayons to write the words. Name the Card– Hold up the flashcard and ask your child to name the image. If they get it right add it to a pile on your right, wrong answers on the left. As you repeat the game, more and more cards will end up in the right pile. Remember, lots of praise and high fives for correct answers. I've taken a look and I think this resource might be similar to what you had in mind! Please do let me know if it's not what you were looking for :) You can also make it a more interactive activity by holding up a flashcard, saying the name of the object, and watching your baby’s reaction. The first option is to turn the cards upside down, in a pile. Have children pull one card, identify the word by reading and speaking the word, then write the word on the recording sheet. If you would like they could write the word multiple times. Move onto the next card when you are both ready. This is for personal and personal classroom use only (to share please direct others to this post to grab their own set!) The Lovevery texture cards and all other “everyday objects” flashcards help babies with language and cognition.
