About this deal

That made me want to try something a little bit warmer, so I hooked the speakers up to my 9 watts per channel Cayin MT-12N Tube Amp (which had no issue driving these efficient speakers), and it not only calmed some of the brightness, but it also showcased the 600M II’s remarkable bass punch and articulation. I enjoyed that combination immensely. Whether you are just getting started with home theater or you have been doing it for years, our selection of amps includes Yamaha’s R-S202BL and A-S301BL, Denon’s AVR-S540BT, and Marantz’s PM6007 amplifier. Have you ever had a big room or loved loud music? In that case Team Wooster audio recommends you to select an amplifier that outputs at least 100 watts RMS would be suitable for powering Klipsch RP-600M speakers. The treble is definitely brighter and those who are sensitive to a more aggressive top end might not agree with my assessment. The imaging is far superior to the older model and that contributed to my enjoyment of the loudspeakers in a significant way.

As with all equipment, aesthetics are very much a personal choice. To my eyes, the bronze-coloured woofer and horn tweeter look purposeful and have a professional studio monitor vibe, albeit with a touch of glamour. A magnetically attached cloth grill is provided if you'd rather the speaker appears more discreet, although for this review, they were not used. A signature feature on the Reference Premiere series, Cerametallic™ woofers are exceptionally rigid and lightweight for minimal distortion and maximum efficiency. New voice coils are 70% larger in diameter resulting in improved power handling and greater cone control for greater linearity and flawless reproduction. New aluminium shorting rings reduce distortion as well as increased power handling and the new motor structure improve transit response with more control with greater speed and accuracy. Klipsch RP-600M II Speakers (Pair)

There’s no denying that the Klipsch Reference Premiere 600m is one of the most popular loudspeakers Klipsch has made in recent years. It’s also THE ONE speaker we’ve never given a proper review. Well that changes today, because we’ve got the 600M v2 –yes, the brand new updated model –and, well, we need to talk. Should you upgrade your 600Ms? 600M II SPECS

As far as specs go, they paint a picture of a very efficient speaker made to play pretty loud. The sensitivity rating is relatively high 94.5dB @ 2.83V/1m, and the power handling is 100w continuous/400w peak. Nominal impedance is an amp-friendly 8 ohms, and the frequency response is rated at 44 to 25 kHz. Sound

As far as the tweeter goes, it’s still pretty much the same LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) design as the first 600M, again using a Titanium diaphragm and vented housing for enhanced detail and clarity on the top end. The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-600M II speakers come with plenty of connectivity options that enable users to make customized and powerful audio setups. The rear panel of the speakers are equipped with dual input terminals, which can be used for Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping. Through this, you can separate the high and low frequencies into each cable and add more power and clarity to the sound. It also has audiophile-grade wiring and aluminum binding posts that support almost any kind of connection type. Horn loading accomplishes two things. First, a horn's restricted throat mechanically loads the dome (or cone). This restrictive loading creates a region of high pressure that a horn whose flare is of a certain length and rate of expansion can effectively convert to a large, pulsing wavefront at normal atmospheric pressure. This elegant form of tuned acoustic impedance matching not only makes a horn speaker more sensitive to voltage, it reduces the amount of diaphragm excursion required to produce a given sound-pressure level (SPL), thereby linearizing the system and reducing distortion. Within their designated passbands, horns can be incredibly linear and low-distortion—especially at very low and very high SPLs, where conventional direct-radiating speakers compress and distort. The colormap provides you the locations with the best (green) and worst (red) listening experience. The RP-600M II is a large-ish two-way standmount speaker. Bass / midrange is handled by a new 6.5” Cerametallic driver, resplendent in its copper finish. Treble comes courtesy of a 1” Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) titanium diaphragm tweeter.

We combined Spinorama data with room acoustics and came up with Soundton. A very simple, 2D online tool that allows you to:Early Reflections Directivity Index (EPDI): is defined as the difference between the listening window curve and the early reflections curve. In small rooms, early reflections figure prominently in what is measured and heard in the room so this curve may provide insights into potential sound quality. They come in two scratch-resistant vinyl finishes, Ebony and Walnut, and I liked the quality of the Ebony samples I received. They did in fact look like they would resist scratches well. The source code under Pierre Aubert's work is licensed under GPL (General public license). He didn't perform any of the measurements himself, and instead he compiled all of them into one place, so that makes sense.
