In general, consuming moderate amounts of sparkling water does not appear to be a dental health concern. However, sparkling water does contain carbonic acid from the carbonation process, making it more acidic than regular water. For comparison, regular water has a neutral pH of 7, while plain carbonated water is typically around 5.5. Sparkling waters with citrus flavorings and those that contain citric acid are generally more acidic, with pH levels around 3. The more acidic the beverage, the more potential for tooth erosion over time with repeated exposure. However, plain sparkling water appears to pose little risk to dental health. Only the sugary types are harmful ( 7). S.Pellegrino can be seen for the first time in 1949 in the film The Emperor of Capri, directed by Luigi Comencini and since that moment it has appeared in the following movies and TV series. They found that the carbonic acid did have an effect compared to non-carbonated water. That effect, however, was relatively tiny: a soda like Coca-Cola can break down a tooth 100 times faster than a San Pellegrino. San Pellegrino is less acidic than Perrier, which is in turn less acidic than flavored soda water. New high-speed line for San Pellegrino (Youtube). Krones AG. In 1932, the Aranciata orangeade variant was introduced. Containing S.Pellegrino as its primary ingredient, the soda added concentrated orange juice. Today, Sanpellegrino S.p.A. also produces various other flavors of carbonated beverages: Limonata ( lemonade), Sanbittèr ( bitters), Pompelmo ( grapefruit), Aranciata Rossa ( blood orange), and Chinò ( chinotto). The Sopranos: Bottles of S.Pellegrino are often seen in many of the restaurant scenes across the entire run of the series. They can often be seen on the Sopranos' family dinner table as well.

There is very little research on this topic, but one study found that sparkling mineral water damaged enamel only slightly more than still water. Furthermore, mineral water was 100 times less damaging than a sugary soft drink ( 3).
