About this deal

Noble was chosen by the Royal Mint to design all of the various Beatrix Potter coins and took great care to stay faithful to the author’s original illustrations that adorned her novels and sketchbooks.

My Jeremy Fisher enjoys fishing… until he is almost eaten by a fish! Why do you think he says he won’t go fishing again? The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse is number 13 in Beatrix Potter's series of 23 little books, the titles of which are as follows: This led to a love of literature that would eventually culminate in The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which was to be followed by the rest of her famous tales. Helen Beatrix Potter was an English author, illustrator, mycologist, and conservationist who is best known for her children's books, which featured animal characters such as Peter Rabbit.A great big enormous trout came up—ker-pflop-p-p-p! with a splash— and it seized Mr. Jeremy with a snap, “Ow! Ow! Ow!”—and then it turned and dived down to the bottom of the pond!

Once or twice something moved about with a rustle and a splash amongst the rushes at the side of the pond. Ruth K. MacDonald, Professor of English at New Mexico State University and author of Beatrix Potter points out that although Potter regarded the lives of her father and his friends as comical and even beneath notice, yet she clearly respected and valued their outdoor pursuits from the bemused treatment she accorded them in Jeremy Fisher. She valued nature untouched by humans even more, MacDonald notes, as evidenced by the careful observation in the illustrations. Jeremy Fisher was written without the many revisions typical of Potter's other productions, and the pictures appear effortless in their execution. MacDonald writes, "Her ability to show human society without also implying its damaging effects on flora and fauna further underscores the book's felicitous composition and success". [19] While some other coins of the Beatrix Potter collections had gold versions produced, the Royal Mint didn’t produce a gold version of the Mr Jeremy fisher 50p. Is The Mr Jeremy Fisher 50p Rare? To a kid, a butterfly sandwich and a lady-bird sauce will be pretty scandalising and sad. This made the story eerie, and not to mention the edge of fear which was woven through the story and deceptively disguised by the cute illustrations. I did not read Beatrix Potter while growing up. I discovered her in a seminar in a museum, and loved the illustrations. From what the seminar conveyed, her writings have more varied shades. And she is much more interesting now. First published in 1902, this edition has been re-originated so it matches Beatrix's first published work, all those years ago.

The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse is number eleven in Beatrix Potter's series of 23 little books, the titles of which are as follows:

Potter was born into an upper-middle-class family in Brompton, London. Both of her parents, Rupert and Helen, were keen artists and encouraged her to pursue her talents. As a child, her parents took Beatrix and her brother, William, to an estate on the River Tay where the Potter children were free to roam the Scottish countryside. The landscape that Peter Rabbit first introduced to us in 1902 is still today one of Beatrix Potter's most popular and well-loved worlds. What started as an endearing story about a bunny rabbit would soon become the first ember for the illustrious series that is 'The World of Beatrix Potter' and a story which has endured retelling after retelling at bedtimes all over the world. Mr. Jeremy shoved the boat out again a little way, and dropped in the bait. There was a bite almost directly; the float gave a tremendous bobbit! One morning, Mr Jeremy Fisher opened the window of his little house and was pleased to see that it was raining. Large drops of rain splashed into the pond. Noble first had to select a suitable watercolour for inclusion on the reverse, then ensure that the quality was not affected as the dimensions were reduced down to that of a 50p coin. About Beatrix Potter And Mr Jeremy FisherThis year saw the introduction of more Beatrix Potter characters on 50p coins, including the Tale of Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten and Benjamin Bunny coins. Do you ever feel that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence? Well, so did Johnny Town-Mouse and Timmy Willie. One was a town mouse and one was a country mouse, and when they end up in each other's worlds they soon discover that they were much happier where they started! Beatrix Potter (1866–1943) loved the countryside and spent much of her childhood drawing and studying animals. 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit', first published in 1902, was her first book. She later went on to publish more than twenty tales and collections of rhymes.

The Story of Miss Moppet is number 21 in Beatrix Potter's series of 23 little books, the titles of which are as follows: Despite this, the coin is still highly sought after for being one of the 13 Beatrix Potter 50ps, and if you can manage to complete the set then it will be much more valuable than having the coin on its own. Jeremy Fisher 50p DesignDubay, Debby; Sewall, Kara (2006), Beatrix Potter Collectibles: The Peter Rabbit Story Characters, Schiffer Publishing Ltd., ISBN 0-7643-2358-X Four Jeremy letters were written at about 1910 to Drew Fayle who thought Jeremy should marry. In one letter, Sir Isaac promises Master Fayle a piece of wedding cake should Jeremy marry and, in another letter, Ptolemy writes that Jeremy's parties "would be much more agreeable if there were a lady to preside at the table." Jeremy writes in the third letter: "When I bought my sprigged waistcoat & my maroon tail-coat I had hopes ... but I am alone ... if there were a 'Mrs. Jeremy Fisher' she might object to snails. It is some satisfaction to be able to have as much water & mud in the house as a person likes."
