About this deal

High handbrake: A handbrake that requires excessive force or pulls up higher than usual can indicate a problem with the handbrake mechanism or the rear brake system. It may be due to worn brake shoes, stretched cables, or a malfunctioning handbrake lever. Inserts seem expensive for what they are and the helicoil route would still possibly leave the possibility of enlarging the bore for fitting an insert at a later date if any future problems are encountered.

On older corroded brake calipers and bleed screws, we may need to put a little more work into getting these ready for removal. For more information about the types of brake disc, see our brake discs fitment and information guide The engineering shop route may be the best solution as it is carried out by someone experienced who should be successful. Wemoto only sell braided steel brake lines, which resist distortion under pressure and high temperatures, transferring braking power more efficiently under all conditions. Brands include:Air and moisture exposure can affect the effectiveness of your brake fluid. When brake fluid has air bubbles (from moisture in the air, or water contamination) it can cause your brakes to feel 'spongy' – this is because air compresses more easily than the brake fluid, so your braking is less efficient. If you're replacing the brake seals, be sure to clean your brake pistons before you install the new seals; don't forget to clean out the recesses, which frequently collect crud. You can use some red rubber grease to lubricate the seals. Motorcycle brake discs (or rotors) are listed for many models in both wavy and standard profiles, from a choice of either EBC or Kyoto. If you experience any of these brake problems, it’s crucial to have your vehicle inspected and repaired by a qualified mechanic to ensure your safety and restore proper brake function. Once we have had a full set of calipers from a Racing Porsche Cup Car, where a customer asked to Timesert all the 8x bleed screw points, as they knew it would be much easier to handle any future bleeding once all of it was done.

I've repaired a couple. What I've found is that ideally 2 oversize taps are needed. The reason is the one supplied is tapered and may not cut threads deep enough to fit the helicoil. Ideally a second tap which has been cut square by a high speed cutting disc would be a workaround. My helicoik tao is marked ST10X1. I guess it is actually M11x1mm. It will not be a standard sized tap so obtaining one to cut off the taper, to use as a chaser tap, may prove difficult. We at Pro-Calipers, can service Brembo brake threads with Timesert and this will still work with original Brembo bleed screws of a size M10 x 1.0, no need for different or bigger bleed screw. We don't use helicoil, as helicoil is just a spring inserted into the bigger thread and the helicoil can easily get pulled when you overtighten the screw. This will never happen with Timeserting, as it's a full insert. Squeaky brakes: If you hear a high-pitched squealing noise when applying the brakes, it often indicates that the brake pads have worn down significantly. Brake pads have a built-in wear indicator that emits noise to alert you that they need replacing.
