I would have preferred it if the author had made some of the football/soccer details more authentic. I love how the author made both of the main characters to be sexually pliant prior to meeting each other. I scoff and splash a generous amount of gin into a plastic cup, adding some ginger ale I find in the fridge in a half-assed attempt at a cocktail. I do wish that they didn’t just get together at the end of the book so we could read more about their relationship after they got together. Anne sighs at the scene, but I grin, feeding off the boisterous energy swirling around with sweet-smelling smoke.Besides that he never was ashamed of his past and spoke up when I felt h tried to use it against him. The camp ends and the separation takes it’s natural course, leaving them both with a big part missing.
