About this deal

Now in the area of programming, which makes or breaks modern graphing calculators. For this calculator, since it offers both native programs and micro-python, we will look at both areas of programming, separately:

Native Programs: When it comes to native (non-Python) programming on the Casio Prizm FX-CG50, there is so much to be desired. For native calculator programming, it is beaten out horribly by the TI-84. It's not the language that's the huge problem, but rather the way the whole thing is set up. It's just not user-friendly and very, very little has been put into making programming this calculator easy. Unlike Texas Instruments Ti-84, you cannot run programs while the device is plugged into the PC to test it. The biggest disappointment when it comes to the design is the way the calculator is powered. The fx-CG50 uses 4 AAA batteries. It is a bit disappointing that we couldn’t see a rechargeable battery in this calculator especially because it came out somewhat recently, but this is one of the reasons that the price isn’t up quite as high as the TI-84 Plus. Calculator performance is great. There are videos on the web that compare this calculator with a similar model from TI, and this calculator is superior in complex matrix calculations and graphing. You may not use these often, but given that they cost about the same, it's good to buy the better one.

E-CON4 Application

Students are usually familiar with linear functions, for instance,y=2x+1. Inputting this function into the graphing calculator shows them how it plots to a graph and reinforces the discussion around the mappings that functions have: in this case, the one-to-one mapping, where one value ofxgives one value ofy. Below is an image of all the apps in the home screen, just so you can get an idea of all of the apps this calculator includes. Includes full sound support (using a 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adaptor), and can run almost all games at full speed. From here, they can also install add-ons. If they’re using an old handset, they may not have these add-ons. They’re not essential. But if a student is doing further maths, for example, 3D graphs is really useful, and they should have had that installed. So, in sum, as a calculator, Casio Prizm FX-CG50 is more modern than the TI-84. It will give you roots and radians without converting them to decimals in most cases. Outdated TI-84 fails to do this. This ability defaults on European non-CAS calculators. Yes, even on TI's UK/Euroepan models, for some odd reason. Just not here.

DEL/UNDO - toggles between minimum (Pokemon shade view) and medium of the range value of your Pokemon You can also compress files using the included Windows tool as .gbz and save a bit of space in exchange for slightly slower emulation. The graphing speed isn’t too bad but it’s not snappy either. From my tests I was able to graph a 3D shape in about 6 seconds. Once you get the shape graphed though, you can look at it from different angles no problem. Just use the directional pad and you will change your viewing angle without any hesitation by the calculator. Hardware If students aren’t going to use exam mode, ensure they know how to reset the handset to clear data on their calculators. To Casio: It would greatly benefit your market if you offered a FREE interface for debugging, testing programs on the PC/Mac without a clumsy emulator interface as TI does. The reason why the TI programming community is so large is that programming with the TI is so much more flexible and easier. People want to help your brand and end this monopoly on the other side, by making code for it, but let's be real. You don't make it easy for us.The Casio fx-CG50 has a library of 21 apps. This is more than most calculators and each app dives fairly deep into whatever function it performs. We won’t go over all of them but we will talk about some of the most useful/significant ones. The fx-CG50 has a financial calculation app that makes the calculator especially useful for things like home finance. This app has a lot of built in features and it makes doing these types of calculations pretty easy You can scroll around with the directional pad to see the atomic number and weight of each element. If you select an element and press [EXE] you will get an even more detailed description, and even a picture!

TI-84 is much more flexible and has much better native programming support than the Casio Prizm FX-CG50 -- rather in or off the calculator. This powerful calculator enables you to plot and analyse graphs and their transformations, import data directly over USB, plot data charts and calculate statistics, calculate and visualise probability distributions, plot and solve graphs in 3D, calculate matrix and vector arithmetic, perform complex calculations not possible on a scientific calculator, calculate spreadsheets and recursive sequences, and whole host more. So, due to CX-CG50 Python support, which saves it, I prefer, slightly, this calculator over the TI-84. That's because you're likely to get through tests faster with it, even on test mode, without having to use all those convert options that you shouldn't have to do with a calculator of this price tag. Plus, the calculator's python has regular expression support, which is super huge. It's like, what is python without re? Maths and science students can take advantage of the easy-to-operate, high-definition 3D Graph functions and the CG50 has a clearer brighter screen than its predecessor, and it is also speedier in its calculations.
