About this deal

There are a number of rules throughout the game such as landing on the Dumb Ass space which means that the player that lands on that cannot answer or ask the next questions. Wits & Wagers Win points not just by answering questions, but betting on who’s most likely to be right Colourbrain simplifies the trivia format by making every question about colours. Each player holds 11 cards of various hues, and has to place down the correct cards to questions such as “What’s the colour of the lid on a jar of Marmite?” The questions are a mix of general knowledge and pop culture, so kids and adults can play together - there’s even a Disney-themed version of the game. Each question card lists 8 clue on it. Starting at the top of the list the player reads down the clues and other players can shout out an answer at any time. But, players only get one go at answering each question. So, if they get it wrong they’re frozen out responding to the rest of the clues. The winner of the game is the first person to land on “The End” and you don’t need a correct number on the Jumbo Movement Die to do so. They are the ultimate Smart Ass. What we thought of Smart Ass

It’s an exciting game that encourages creativity, and is perfect for the type of person who loves memorising movie quotes. By its nature, the game skews towards film buffs (it even comes in a VHS box) - so if your friends don’t watch many movies, they may not have much fun. However, an incorrect answer means that the player is out of the round. Once a player answers correctly, they can then roll the numbered die, allowing them to move their marker around the board. It is a game that enables all of the players to shout the answers out and that is why it is suited for parties and large groups. Skill – Complexity Dumb Ass – this is a penalty space. If you land on this you can’t answer the next questions. Basically, it’s like missing a turn. There are two halves to the game. First, two players go head-to-head in a buzzer round where they must list movies on a topic like “based on a book” or “set in the future” until someone fails to answer correctly or runs out of time. The victor then gets a chance to win cards by acting out one movie, reciting a quote from another and using just one word to describe the last, so their team can guess the correct title. The questions cover a broad range of topics, from sports to pop culture and history, meaning it should cater to most players. It’s a great game for family gatherings.

The first player to reach The End space wins the game. You do not have to reach the final space by exact count. The orange player was the first to reach the end space. They have won the game.

Designed for 2 to 6 players and for ages 12 to adult, play starts with the oldest Smart Ass player who is the Reader and will read the first question. This first player rolls the Jumbo Category Die to determine which category the first question will be from. This could be one of the following: If their answer is not correct, they are out for that round. If the answer is correct, then that player wins the round.

This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. Should no one guess the answer correctly, the reader gets to roll the number die and move their playing piece the corresponding number of spaces. More recent versions of the game come in travel-size tins, which are great for taking out and about, but only contain 55 cards, so after a few games you may remember the dates. That limits replayability, but you can mix and match different sets (each of which have different themes, such as inventions or British history) to increase complexity, and older versions of the games have more cards. When you land on this space, you will skip the next round. If you would have been a guesser, you cannot submit an answer. If you would have been the reader, the player to your left becomes the reader for the next round. It’s a great game if you or someone you know is already a fan of the show, and might even help you convert them into playing more board games. As the game only takes 30 minutes to play, it keeps players entertained for just the right length of time. Who’s it best suited for? This leads to some interesting tactical decisions. Do you wait to hear all four questions to work out the connection, or do you take a stab after two or three questions in the hope of guessing the link before the other players? You can only make one guess - if you’re wrong, you might help an opponent solve the link. In Smart Ass the aim of the game is to be first around the board working out Who Am I? What Am I? or Where Am I? The first player to reach the end is the ultimate Smart Ass. The game requires no skill to play other than having the ability to answer trivia questions. It is a basic roll and move kind of game and that gives this game a low complexity level. Set Up – Playing Rules & Instructions
