Octagon SF8008 je výborný UHD kombinovaný přijímač, který umožňuje příjem satelitních programů v nové normě DVB-S2X a také příjem pozemních digitálních programů v normě DVB-T2/HEVC. Přijímač navíc umožňuje příjem programů vysílaných v režimu multistream (MIS). Citlivost/selektivita použitého satelitního tuneru byla výborná. Porovnávání s referenčním přijímačem Dreambox DM8000 proběhlo na transpondérech britské BBC na družici Astra 2 na pozici 28,2° východně. Chyba je v zobrazování hodnoty kvality signálu v decibelech nebo v procentech, tu musí výrobce opravit. Tento přijímač nemá k dispozici žádný CI slot. Pokud chce tedy uživatel používat některý z dekódovacích modulů, musí volit jiný typ přijímače, např. staršího bratříčka Octagonu model SF4008. Under GrogBuild there should be something under Plugins to fit the bill. I used to use E2i Player which is a collection of streaming services running under one plugin.
