When asked about the ritual, DeRogna answered "I'm the one who did it."

Mollymauk" is a modification of "Mollymawk", the name of a species of albatross in the genus Thalassarche that originates from the Dutch " mallemok" ( mal - foolish, and mok - gull). Mollymauk Tealeaf is a tiefling blood hunter and member of the Mighty Nein. He is played by Taliesin Jaffe. Western Wildemount is governed by the Dwendalian Empire and is ruled by King Bertrand Dwendal. A council of powerful archmages called the Cerberus Assembly act as advisors to the House of Dwendal. The Empire regards the region of Xhorhas, which occupies the eastern side of the continent, as an inhospitable wasteland. Xhorhas is governed by the Kryn Dynasty, is ruled by the Bright Queen Leylas Kryn, and is primarily home to the drow and other races considered to be monstrous. [30] [31] [32] The Menagerie Coast occupies the southwestern coastline and is governed by the Clovis Concord, a coalition of eight city-states that includes Nicodranas and Port Damali. The tundra in the northernmost region of Wildemount is known as the Greying Wildlands; the harsh environment leaves it sparsely populated compared with other regions. Some parts of the story take place on the Lucidian Ocean, off the shore of the Menagerie Coast, and on Eiselcross, a frozen continent north of Wildemount. [31] [32] Production and format edit At the Xhorhaus, the Mighty Nein discuss their need for allies. Dairon arrives and they speak with Essek about the current threat. The party return to Yussa's tower in Nicodranas but find Yussa has been missing for weeks. They speak with Allura Vysoren, a sorcerer from Tal'Dorei who tells them more about the "happy fun ball". Allura knows it as the Folding Halls of Halas, an extra-dimensional space created by a powerful wizard from antiquity. The party determine a chamber within the ball may contain the heart of the Laughing Hand and that Yussa may also be trapped within. They enter it once more and face a Froghemoth, return the study from their first journey, and encounter a large golem.

Let me make this abundantly clear: My name is Molly. That person is dead, and not me. It's just a person who had this body. They abandoned it. It's mine now." [99] Molly thought that his death enabling Beau's survival was worth it, and Taliesin joked that Molly would forever have a "one-up" on her. [67]

Molly was initially annoyed by Beau's abrasiveness. When describing her to fellow carnival members, Molly said, "She’s helping, she’s awful, you have a lot in common." [65] Beau, in return, was put off by Molly's lying and teasing. He supported her efforts to change, and they went on to develop a close, sibling-like relationship. Yeah, we've done a very good job from the very beginning to try to insulate our game experience from the larger entertainment scope when we're at the table," says Mercer. "There are cameras there, but we've gotten used to it, and it's still just us at the table interacting with each other and playing the game and telling the story for each other. So in those moments, yeah, we're not even thinking about the wider ripples of how this will affect people. We're thinking about how it'll affect those at the table."

The Origin of Critical Role’s Mollymauk Tealeaf

In " Vox Machina vs. Mighty Nein" (OSx40), a non-canon battle royale between members of Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein, Mollymauk appeared as a level 15 version of himself, with the following statistics: The official art (cropped) for Jaffe's new character, Caduceus Clay, by Ariana Orner. See the full version here. Dairon reveals she is in Asarius investigating a possible connection between the Assembly and the Kryn Dynasty. Dairon exchanges information with the group and Beau warns her Lady Olios is looking for a spy. The party investigate a haunted well and divert attention from themselves. The next evening, they follow up with a bugbear who lives near the well and fight two fiends in his home. The fiends retreat to the tunnels beneath the well and the group give chase. In October 2022, Critical Role announced a two-part special titled The Mighty Nein Reunited. The canonical story begins several months after the conclusion of the second campaign with the cast reprising their roles. Part One aired on November 17, 2022, and Part Two aired on December 1, 2022. The Mighty Nein Reunited was streamed on Twitch and YouTube, and was simulcast at Cinemark Theatres in the United States and South America. [7] [45] Before leaving the town of Berleben, Fjord confided in Molly about his concerns about the new eye in the center of his falchion. [62] Molly attempted to charm him in response to get more information, but it failed. [63]

The Mighty Nein is victorious in the final battle of the Victory Pit. With war looming, they debate their next actions. The party relax at their hotel in the Tri-Spire, and Caleb explains his dark past to Nott and Beau: his magical talent was recognized by Trent Ikithon, a member of the Cerberus Assembly, while he was training at Soltryce Academy. Caleb was given extra training to become an assassin for the Empire but was manipulated into murdering his family as a final test of devotion. The realization of Caleb's actions caused a mental breakdown. At some point between 834 and the first half of 835 PD Molly heard about how the lawmaster of Nogvurot was scamming his people by making them believe he had connections with the royal family of a foreign empire (when in fact he was just taking their money). Wanting to scam the scammer, Mollymauk and the carnival traveled there, with the tiefling pretending to be the duke of Ashtania, a member of the non-existent royal family. He made the lawmaster believe that he and his friends were there to support him in exchange for half of his profits that month. Molly and his friends from the carnival stayed for three weeks, [32] entertaining the people, and at the end of it they betrayed the lawmaster by telling the townsfolk that he had been scamming both them and the duke; the scammer was banished from Nogvurot, the people recovered part of the money that had been swindled from them, and the carnival members left the place with some profit. [33] Campaign Two: The Mighty Nein [ ] Molly was bisexual and had little preference for who he slept with, as seen when he bought the services of two courtesans and when asked about his preference of gender, he specified he only cared about the one with the best hands and best conversation. [116] The word mollymawk, which dates to the late 17th century, comes from the Dutch mallemok, which means mal – foolish and mok – gull. [4] Another etymology suggests that it comes from the German Mallemugge, a term used originally for midges or flies that whirled about lights. [5] See " The Open Road" (2x05) from 1:26:30 through 1:26:38. Mollymauk uses the Rite of the Dawn on a scimitar.
