It connects to its own WiFi, which limits the flight, and can have a poor connection. Flight Camera wise, you are getting a 720p HD camera that holds its own among some of the bigger brands and whilst it might not have a built in gimbal it does have 3 axis and 3 accelerometers to ensure smooth flight. The manufacturers recommend that this drone is used by anyone 12 years plus so with some close supervision it is also a drone that the kids can enjoy. Before DJI came and stormed the drone world with their expensive (but really quite nice) technology, we saw Parrot dominating the UAV market and to some extent they still have some of the best looking and performing technology in the industry. Overall, we loved the Hubsan H501S X4, if nothing else it provided an excellent FPV experience at a fraction of the cost of some other drones and the return to home and built in GPS were very reliable and a lifesaver at times.

The motors that are attached to the drone is brushless in design which ensures more life to the drone as usually expected. This motor is very cheap in the market and is more precise and durable as compared to the brushed motors available in the market. The specs of the Parrot include a powerful ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and it has 1GB of DDR2 RAM. The camera is pretty sufficient for basic use as the Parrot sports a 720p 30FPS HD camera with a 92 degree wide angle lens. It also sports a second (more basic) camera that points vertically which captures video in QVGA at 60FPS. In terms of connectivity you will not be left disappointed with the AR Drone 2.0 as it includes WiFi b, g and n as well as a high speed USB port. This Parrot quadcopter is made to ensure, first, the build and quality of this drone are in a high tier compared to other beginner lever drones. The frame is made of carbon and nylon material and it comes with brushless motors which are assuredly more reliable and durable than the cheaper brushed motors in the market. The drone comes with 2 Styrofoam bodies one for indoors and one for outdoors. They are easily slipped on around the frame of the drone for better protection. Built-In 720p HD Camera Another really nifty feature of the Parrot drone is that when you record video or take pictures it stores directly on to your device so there is no need for extra SD cards or USB cables etc. You can share directly from the app if you want to add your footage to YouTube or social media which is also a very handy feature for casual users.

The electronic technology that's built into the AR.Drone 2.0 allows for very precise navigation. Ultrasound sensors have been integrated to measure the distance to the ground while a vertically-mounted camera determines the ground speed. That way you always know how high and fast you're flying this RTF helicopter. This particular model is equipped with a water-resistant, brush-free motor that functions electronically. If you complain about your family not getting enough outdoor time, buying them one of these flying drones is sure to get the entire family outdoors for some fresh air. Best of all, you can run them all year long, as long as it’s not raining or snowing. The Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite Edition makes a great gift, whether for birthday or Christmas. So, whatever pictures you take and the videos you record are stored into your internal or external storage available on your mobile or tablet. This tablet or the mobile is connected to your drone via the FPV Feature available in your drone. Remote Control Unfortunately before you can fly the thing you'll have to charge the battery, which takes between 2 and 2.5 hours. While the battery is charging, I suggest watching the tutorial videos. They will teach you all the basics you need for your first flight. If I'd watched the videos, I wouldn't have crashed the thing into the sliding door before we ever got it out of the house, and the three flights it took us to figure out the controls would have been reduced to one. Every feature provided in this drone is very advanced and the performance it gives is awesome and completely worth the price. The overall design and build quality of this drone is pretty awesome and is highly recommended for beginner use.We found moving video footage to be pretty stable thanks to the built in stability control of the drone – according to Parrot this is good in wind conditions of up to 15MPH. Overall
