About this deal

As I have said many times and is most certainly the case when choosing between 8x42 or 10x42 binoculars: There is no single best option, rather it boils down to selecting the right choice for your particular requirements: One thing we like about Nikon is that they provide numerous accessories alongside their binoculars. With Prostaff 7s and 3s binoculars, you’ll get 1 strap, 2 objective lens caps, a soft case, and an eyepiece cap.

Both have fully armoured rubber body and are all weatherproof binoculars. Both the binocular contains eco glasses that are lead-free and arsenic-free and with Bak-4 Prisms Weight We’re surprised by how premium some of the functions feel on these binoculars. The twisting adjustable eyecups provide 15.4mm of eye relief which makes them viable for glasses wearers, but it's in the twisting action that we get a confident clunk when moving between the three preset distances. The quality of which is almost indistinguishable from the Monarch HG line, so we were really pleased to see this vital adjustment machined to such high quality. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or simply looking to get a better view of a game when you go to a sports event, a decent pair of binoculars can provide you an awful lot of pressure. For the majority of users with relatively steady hands, a 10x binocular is fine for hand-holding and it is only once you go above 12x to 15x that it becomes a problem. However, if you have particularly unsteady/shaky hands, this may be something worth keeping in mind and her an 8x instrument would make a better choice. 10x vs 8x: Image Detail vs Field of View Optics quality: With phase correction, Nikon Monarch 3 takes the lead, which means the brightness and resolution are better. The other 3 don’t differentiate much, however, Nikon Prostaff 3s 10×42 is slightly better. On the other hand, we want to bring some notes if you want to consider Nikon Aculon 10×42. Its prism is porro prism, therefore, the image would have a slight vintage effect, though optics quality is still very decent.Understanding these core distinctions will enable you to then understand which option is more ideal for what or how you specifically use your binoculars. But, what little has been said about it is unbeatable this far. It has gotten off to a strong start with a top rating that mightn't be too hard for the Prostaff 3S to hold in the coming months ahead. Maybe in sunset, you would still be pleased. But at night, the Nikon Prostaff 3S start to show some issues. Specifically, we could witness some halos effect and lens flare while watching the moon. If you say that it’s not a bad experience in terms of enjoying the night wide nature, we won’t be against that. However, in terms of image quality, it’s certainly not there yet. Indeed most brands will list their 8x42 and 10x42 models within the same series as having identical size and weights. If you're looking in the affordable, lightweight binocular category, you might encounter the Bushnell All Purpose Binoculars. Popular among hunters, this pair is half the price of the Nikon Prostaff 3s and has similar features, including long eye relief and fog resistance. But they don't claim to be waterproof and they don't come with a case or lens caps, and they don't have the best lens quality.

While Prostaff 7s is perfect for hunters, Prostaff 3s is designed for bird watchers and tourists who like observing wildlife. Nikon Vision Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, is pleased to announce the release of the PROSTAFF 3S binoculars, featuring 8x42 and 10x42 models. That said, the Prostaff 7s has one extra feature that makes it superior to 3s model. The prisms on the 7s are reinforced with phase correction coatings that further enhance resolution. For a value-added price the Celestron UpClose G2 10x50 binoculars deliver. Intended more as an everyday pair of bins than for use by twitchers specifically, these certainly nevertheless possess sufficient power and poke for the price, if you don't mind the traditional wider binocular build and operation. With surprisingly clear results delivered by this specialist brand as well as a value for money price point, the construction uses basic Bk7 glass prisms and the barrels and bridge are made from aluminium. You do get a rubber coated exterior to aid grip, yet the eyecups aren't adjustable and feel a tad flimsy to the touch.

Nikon announces their new PROSTAFF 3S binoculars, available in 8x42 and 10x42 configurations and aimed at the mid range market: Main Features This Agreement is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Japan without regard to its conflicts of laws principles. The field of view is wider in the Nikon Prostaff 3s series than the 7s series which means, it is easier to follow moving objects with 3s series than the 7s series binoculars Eye Relief Well, one of the main problems with a more “zoomed in” image on a higher power is that it reduces your field of view. I was also astonished that the brightness in the Prostaff 7s series was so much more noticeable than the Prostaff 3s’s binoculars. Fog Proof /Water Proof

Coming at standard size for multiple purposes from spectator sports to nature observation, the unit is as light as 565g for Nikon Prostaff 3S 8×42 and 575g for Nikon Prostaff 3S 10×42. Compared to the fully multicoated optics on prostaff 7s, the 3s series comes with single-layer coating. Price Optics quality: Nikon Prostaff 7 shows the best result. This line has the phase correction technique, which allows better light transmission and clearance of the image. The performance in low light conditions of Nikon Prostaff 7 10×42 is also better of all. Prostaff 3 and Prostaff 5 don’t show much differentiation in this category. This difference between the two can largely be explained by the relationship between the size of the pupils in your eyes and the size of the shafts of light exiting the ocular lenses ( exit pupil) of the binocular: Views are clear and sharp through the Prostaff P3s with no major issues across the viewing circle. Thanks to the adjustable eyecups and accurate dioptre we can dial in focus without a problem and they are fun, sleek binoculars to take out for casual observing. There is a little chromatic aberration (color fringing) around contrasted edges in the form of purple and occasionally green outlines. Even rotating the binoculars upside down and giving them a little shake sees the caps drop off. They hold tension better when the binoculars are hinged together but by leaving them wide open the caps are loose which we see as a bit of an oversight. Nikon Prostaff P3 8x42 Competitors s will also look to have a brighter image in low light and thus will make a better choice if you often operate in woodlands, forests or when the sun is at or just below the horizon. Both series have multi-coated optics but the coating layers on the Prostaff 3s series are less than the 7s series. Clearly optical quality suffers a bit in the Prostaff 3s series Build Quality and Finish

Construction: Nikon Trailblazer is known among the most compact of Nikon binoculars, and you could see from the table the size is best in ergonomic features. However, Nikon Prostaff 3 has the lightest weight. As for the eye relief, the Prostaff 3s 8×42 really shines offering 20.2 mm eye relief. This way, you’ll be able to view a full image even if you’re wearing glasses. The 8×42 model of 7s doesn’t fall too far behind as it has an eye relief of 19.5mm.

PROSTAFF 3S

Prostaff 7 series consists of 8×30, 10×30, 8×42, 10×42 models, so the basic purpose was that in addition to standard-sized 42mm-dia models, 30mm-dia models that are easy to carry for everyone are available, providing high optical performance in a compact body. The Prostaff 7s seems to be clearly brighter than the 3s series in all light conditions which is not surprising as; Prostaff 3s wider field of view offers an advantage in that it helps you spot things more easily without moving your optics equipment too much. Another similarity in their lenses is that they are multi-coated. Their lenses and prisms feature multi-layered coatings that boost light transmission, resulting in bright and clear images.
