When I received Big Sky Mountain I could not wait to trot back into the lives of Parable's cowboys -particularly Hutch, Slade, and Boone.brewing in this book and they were a little too distracting because it made you forget your main characters. And in my opinion, I admire how LLM was able to bring Hutch from a jerky half-brother who resented that his illegitimate older half-sibling was left 50% of their father's estate to a likeable, child-friendly cowboy. It is an interesting start to the series that will give the reader a wonderful tale of life in the mountains as well as have them giggling with or at the talking animals.
