As well as a parking brake that you can use with your foot, the Summit X3 has a hand-operated deceleration brake, which was so useful on sloping pavements for everyday use but also for hilly terrains during active outings. Both the Summit X3 and Thule Urban Glide 2 fold as compactly as possible so you can bring your jogging stroller along for any adventure.

The new Baby Jogger Summit X3 is a hybrid jogging stroller and is an easy way for you to spend time with your baby whilst also being able to continue with your jogging routine. Disappointingly, it’s not a self-stand pushchair, which makes it more challenging for home storage but it’s easy enough to pick up and transfer to the car using the handy carry handle. The handle has no upward curve, and the brake cable lays along the handle on the right side and got in our way. Without the features and performance necessary to function as a jogging stroller, it is hard to find a reason to purchase it.

One peeve was the wire for the deceleration brake sitting behind the rubberised handlebar because it interfered with my grip of the handle. This stroller does not have an adjustable handlebar, which could cause running biomechanics problems for taller pushers. This is a huge plus point for a buggy that’s on the heavier side, especially if it can take children up to 5 years.
