About this deal

The Urikar Pro 2 claims a whopping 15mm amplitude. However, our tests show it more around the 12mm mark – see the photo above. Regardless, this is still a remarkable stroke length, especially for a heated massage gun, many of which don’t even reach a 10mm stroke length. As a trusted brand in the market, Lifepro stands behind their products with a risk-free lifetime warranty, a commitment shared by only a few other brands. This makes the Fusion X not just an affordable, but also a reliable choice for a heated massage gun Providing a balance between relaxation, relieving tight knots and recovery, use the Pro Physio Massage Gun before or after working out - or to simply enjoy a focused massage. Rechargeable, lightweight and cordless for ease - take it with you. It has a 10.5mm amplitude, which on paper is tiny bit higher than the Lifepro Fusion X, but the truth is that a half a millimeter difference isn’t really a difference.

When evaluating these massage guns, I focused on their versatility and features that extended their functionality. A diverse selection of head attachments allows for targeted relief across various muscle groups, and I looked for massagers that came with multiple options. Christie Aschwanden, science journalist and author of Good to Go: What the Athlete in All of Us Can Learn from the Strange Science of Recovery, phone interview, March 15, 2021The Lifepro FusionX Massage Gun comes with one heated massage head. It can heat to temperatures between 107 to 118-degrees Fahrenheit. With the new X6 Pro massage gun, they went all out to try and improve on ergonomics and added a pretty unique attachment that can work great for a heated massage (and for an ice-cold one, too).We are talking about the flat metal attachment, as pictured below. The X6 Pro metal attachment for hot and cold massage therapy. In addition to my own expertise, I sought the wisdom of two experts who use massage guns regularly: Dr. Chloe Costigan, a doctor of physical therapy for Mobility Doc in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and Stephanie Thomas, an ACE-certified personal trainer and health coach who specializes in wedding fitness programs. Our conversations gave me additional perspectives on the biomechanics and physiological impacts of massage gun usage. The Therapist Select Plus Percussion Massager by Homedics combines six intensities and six different attachments allowing you to personalize your massager to your liking.

Based on our own experience with those devices, a heated percussion massager is only different because it has the heat function and 1 attachment that works with this mode. Otherwise, everything else is as regular as it should be. Honestly, I did not see a need for this many levels — but I liked how easy it was to change the intensity (with a single hand!) when moving from the large muscles of my quads, which I really enjoy pummeling at the highest intensities, to my more sensitive calves. In the end, I didn’t find much of a difference between, say, levels 15 and 16 or 29 and 30; I would increase/decrease by about 5 at a time for a noticeable effect. It’s easy to operate, and the user guide that’s included means you can develop and adapt your own routines instead of following along on a connected app or video tutorial. Other things that we loved include its improved ergonomics (versus the earlier Bob and Brad C2) with a pill-shaped handle for more confident grip. This is the same twist that Hyperice recently introduced in their new Hypervolt 2 and 2 Pro – looks simple but works like a charm. Finally, the Pro 2 is delivered in a professional-looking sturdy carrying case and comes with eight different heads, offering ample variety for your massage needs. We must say Urikar Pro 2 surprised us in every way and we’ll be publishing its full review shortly. Usually, the one attachment that is used for the heated massage therapy is the flat (usually ceramic) head. All the other attachments are standard and will not give you a heated massage. The gun itself is fairly heavy, weighing in at 2lbs. This makes it one of the heaviest massage guns we tested at home. Although it’s not uncomfortable to use for longer periods, it could become heavy and unwieldy over longer massage sessions.

The device’s percussion range sits comfortably between 1600-2900rpm, more than enough for an entry-level gun. It also comes with five speed gears. Lifepro advertises a noise level of 60-70dB, but our tests found it quieter, around 52 to slightly over 60dB. I considered how much noise each massage gun made and its effect on my environment by using each one while watching TV and engaging in conversations. My goal was to assess whether the noise interfered with my ability to hear the TV or chat comfortably with others. One of the obvious benefits of the HoMedics Pro Physio Massage Gun over rivals is its ability to deliver heated massage using the dedicated head. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that if you are applying heated massage this will lessen the power range of the battery. Homemedics suggest this slips from around five hours down to three and a half, which during our experience with it seemed to be a pretty accurate estimate. Choose from six different massage heads that can cover a raft of problem areas including all of the usual suspects such as quads, calves, glutes and more besides. The massage gun includes a smart travel case, and a guide to help you use it effectively (Image credit: Rob Clymo) Price and availabilityWhile massage guns are designed to provide relief and facilitate recovery, they aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution and there are times you shouldn’t use one. For example, Costigan notes that you shouldn’t use a massage gun on an open wound or an incision, as this could lead to infection or hamper your body’s natural inflammatory response. You should also proceed with caution if you have an acute injury, such as a bad ankle sprain. If you’re unsure about using a massage gun, consult your doctor to be safe. The massage gun features six head attachments, the most of any of the massage guns we tested at home. Boasting a maximum PPM of 3000 PPM, the HoMedics Pro Physio also includes a heated head attachment to deliver warmth to problem areas, and a cool head attachment.

We also tested the two other modes apart from the heated mode. One is the regular one – which they call intermittent, while the other is the progressive (ladder mode) where percussions are timed to increase automatically. amplitude but standard percussion range of 1600 to about 2900 rpm. The battery capacity is similar to most in our list (2600mAh).Since it is a screw-in attachment (unlike the other ones), it doesn’t have any rubber gaskets. It means that this all-metal head can be put into the hot water for a heated massage. Since it’s all metal, you can heat it (or freeze it) easily – don’t put it in a microwave though.
