The citrus makes the opening nice and bright but the powdery violet comes through immediately to stay until the drydown. I have gone through hundreds of fragrances from all types of fragrance houses and this one will be a close favorite of mine even tho I denied it in my youth. Clean and fresh top notes of artemisia, mandarin and violet blend with warming heart notes of nutmeg, cedarwood and white pepper.Now I wasn't expecting some "blue fragrance" or "compliment bomb", but I did kind of expect somewhat of a cross between Versace Pour Homme and Dior Homme 2020. An easy-to-wear, peaceful, completely safe fragrance, reminds you of the smell of white clothes just washed, or the smell of the morning when cool breezes blow, a scent that causes comfort and calm, gentle and soft. Performance is below average, but that's fine since the scent is so cheap and doesn't offend with multiple sprays. Putting this over scents like that really takes the "sharpness" out of them and helps smooth out the scent. I originally picked this up while on vacation in Las Vegas shortly after it’s release and loved it . I don’t know how much this has changed over the years or if there is any reformulation in the new bottles, but this lasts on my skin and smells amazing, has this nice manly floral scent to it, aromatic and every so slightly powdery. However that might be great if you're wearing this to the office or a casual indoor space as this will get you noticed, but subtly and professionally. I had a co worker comment that it smells like clean skin and another said it smelled like fresh air.Nutmeg adds a rich, spicy accord, then it dries down to a clean vetiver/musk combo with a nice contrast of tonka bean. Doesn’t project well and won’t get you noticed but it’s good for all occasions especially dates or when you don’t want to over do it like work or interviews. It also heavily reminds me of the OG JPG Le Male once the drydown starts to peek through, really remarkable. The performance is a bit lacking but the longevity is decent, whereby the base will linger on for some time. The bottle is sleek and sophisticated, featuring a minimalist design that reflects the fragrance's simplicity and elegance.
