The Capsule Chix are a series of blind bag-style collectable fashion dolls from Moose Toys released August 2019. So far there has been 1 series, featuring 4 different collections based on various styles and a total of 400 pieces to create 4 billion possible looks. The next step was to try and narrow down our search even more. So we’ve already looked the prices of products in the Playsets and figures category. Then we’ve also looked at the prices of products from Capsule Chix. So this step combines the two and looks specifically at the price you’d expect to pay for Capsule Chix branded products in the Playsets and figures category. If the brand you buy is important to you, our best advice is to spend some time writing up your own list of ideal brands. That way when you come to the point where you’re comparing product options you can filter to only show the products from brands in your list.

Just before we get into the detail of analysing the price of this product, we want to briefly highlight the importance of setting yourself a budget before you spend too much time shopping around for a suitable product. It’s all too often that we get carried away when shopping and find ourselves buying a fantastic product, but probably actually overdelivers on what we need and therefore costs a lot more than we should have spent. So spend a bit of time looking around at the sort of price you can expect to pay for products in the Playsets and figures category and use that alongside your own financial situation to set yourself a budget. The parts come in capsules which are dispensed via a dial on the front of the box, which is really exciting as you don’t know what you’ll open! More information on quality can be found in this old but still very helpful article from Harvard Business Review. The capsules are done up with a little tape which you need to remove. Inside each one is a small pink plastic bag; you can rip these open easily to reveal the contents which are either pieces of the doll (the heads, body and legs come separately), hair, shoes, clothes or accessories. My daughter – who has just turned six – also loves fashion dolls, and I knew that Capsule Chix, which combines the excitement of blind bag toys and mix and match fashion, would appeal to her instantly. What are Capsule Chix?From what I can tell, there were five different collections of Capsule Chix in Season 1 and two collections in Season 2, all of them released in 2019 and 2020. As far as I know, the toys are now discontinued. The first is brand. Looking at the brand of the product is often a really good indicator for judging product quality. For example you’d expect a much higher quality product from a brand known for providing excellent quality than you would from an unknown or even a budget brand. Blind bag collectibles are insanely big business and my kids, like most others, were hooked from their first sniff of a Kinder Egg. Using groundbreaking designs, we are constantly thinking outside the (toy)box and pushing innovation boundaries. Trailblazing the way in toy design with some of the world’s favorite toy brands, such as Treasure X, Magic Mixies, Bluey, and Little Live Pets (to name a few!). The Capsule Chix Ultimix is a box containing 20 coloured plastic capsules, which you dispense by turning the handle on the front of the box until they pop out of the hole in the front which you pop out – this is easy to do as it’s perforated. The next step for us was to look at all of the products that fall within the Playsets and figures category, of which we found 926 products at Argos. So we pulled together all of the prices of these products to analyse the average prices as well as finding the cheapest and most expensive options. My daughter opened the box on her sixth birthday and along with her brother and myself we sat down to test it out together.
