About this deal

Flexi Armour Ground Mesh - is a highly corrosion resistant, flexible and sturdy ground covering mesh that discreetly prevents burrowing pests like rats from creating underground dens and safe harbourages close to your facilities, by proofing the ground around the property to prevent tunnel excavation and damage. Properly applied flashing extends to within 1/8 inch (0.3 cm) of the edge of the door at the sides and bottom. Close the gap at the top or sides of roll-up doors with conveyor belt material shaped to fit into the side channel frames and mounted on the top door jamb. Bent bottom rails on doors should be straightened. Concrete dam-age due to inadequate reinforcement or poor placement practices should be repaired or the concrete replaced. A metal or pipe threshold is sometimes preferable or required. Below, we have outlined the properties of some commonly employed meshes. These include mesh to prevent the passage of rodents (both rats and mice), insects (including specifically midges) and for use in beekeeping applications. Of note, much of the information below has been advised to us by the British Pest Control Association (BPCA). Rodent Mesh (rats and mice) We provide a variety of effective proofing solutions against rodent infestations to help protect every aspect of your business: Targeted Rodent Proofing– by preventing rodent ingress in these vulnerable areas and removing opportunities for them to nest and find refuge, you minimise the risk of pest activity and limit the potential spread of infestations inside your premises.

In the unusual event where delivery is repeatedly refused or no effort is made to accept delivery, we reserve the right to pass delivery and return courier costs to the customer. Caution: letting metal siding rest directly against concrete can lead to accelerated rusting and corrosion. The siding should be installed so that openings are no greater than 1/8 inch (0.3 cm) wide. If the siding is installed with the ribs horizontal, the ends must still be sealed or the bottom of the decorative corner trim flashed and closed. Close openings around augers, pipes, and electric cables where they enter structures with Portland cement mortar, Concrete Patch ®, masonry, or metal collars (Fig. 11). There are many points of potential entry into a building for a rodent. One of the reasons businesses develop pest problems is because they don’t fully rodent-proof their premises’. Proofing is always the first line of defense against rodent infestations. The Flexi Armour rodent proofing range of door seals provides effective proofing measures, to help prevent the entry of rats and mice and reduce the risk of a rodent infestation developing on your premises. Rodents often gnaw into wall materials at corners or where joints in construction materials provide an edge. Poor construction techniques may allow rodents to gain access through materials that are otherwise considered rodent-proof.Flexi Armour Expansion Joint Proofing– this resilient yet flexible proofing solution eliminates the gaps in expansion joints on floors and walls in larger premises, preventing rodents chewing through and entering the voids.

Doors should fit tightly, the distance between the bottom of the door and the threshold not exceeding 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). In some instances, it is possible to build up the threshold rather than modify the door. Figure 9. Patching small holes with copper gauze and a fast-drying patching compound (left), and 1/4-inch hardware cloth for larger holes (right). Figure 15. Left: A curtain wall made of concrete will prevent rats from burrowing under foundations to gain entry to buildings. Curtain walls can be installed on existing buildings. A horizontal footing extension often deflects burrowing rodents away from structures. Right: Feed sheds, corn cribs, and other existing wooden structures can be rodent-proofed by installing hardware cloth topped by a band of sheet metal. The hardware cloth can also serve as a curtain wall to prevent rodent burrowing.Figure 22. Guards can be used to prevent rats from climbing augers, pipes, or wires leading to buildings. Footings or foundations for grain bins should extend into the ground to prevent rat burrowing. The choice between concrete and wire mesh depends on the expected life of the structure. Though wire mesh costs considerably less than concrete, its usefulness generally lasts only 5 to 10 years.
