Healing Factor: Dreadnought has one; while not Wolverine-level, she recovers from internal organ damage that would kill a normal human while feeling not much worse than sore, and broken bones completely heal within a few days.The good news is that “Dreadnought” is very possibly one of the top five history books I have read so far, and I have read quite a few of them by now. Massie manages to visualize all the main characters of the period and make them human. Furthermore, he weaves a mesmerizing slideshow of events, that first very slowly, but then with more and more momentum leads to one of humanity's greatest calamities. The end result is stunning. There are unforgettable and horrifying scenes here in this spare and sombre memoir of this experience of the hanging of a child, of his first farewell with his father who leaves him an inheritance of a knife and a spoon, and of his last goodbye at Buchenwald his father's corpse is already cold let alone the long months of survival under unconscionable conditions.
