This eye-catching and warming windbreaker from Berghaus is a great pick to help you stay warm and able to stretch during times when you're meandering around the town. With GORE-TEX 2L waterproof protection it’s designed to keep every drop of the harshest downpour on the outside.

My only comment is that the external pockets in the new jacket seem to be somewhat shallower than the old jacket. It will start undoing from the bottom or as with the last jacket it ripped the zipper from the fabric. This classic GORE-TEX® waterpoof hilwalking jacket from Berghaus has been popular ever since it was first released in 1993.Out in any decent rainstorm' within 30 mins my elbows start to get wet ( a grey coloured fleece confirms this) and the incoming eater drains down to my wrists from where life soon becomes uncomfortable.

Adjustable hood offers enhanced wet weather protection and can be neatly rolled away when not in use. The jacket has performed well in all conditions and the entire jacket is still intact, no leaks and still very comfortable. In less than 2 years from initial purchase this gearment has gone from a high end waterproof to al low end damp proof. Reason for only giving 4stars is that the new model they have shrunk the size of the 2 main outer pockets -I would say by half -I know it sounds petty ,but the lager pockets on the old one where deep therefore you felt gear wasn't going to fall out . Outdoor Action Recommends using recommended cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers Performance Wash.

The map pocket is perfect for an ipod, and the hood is excellent when most others around you have been caught unprepared!

When you need some extra warmth, you can zip in one of our compatible mid-layers, thanks to the interactive zip. We are not allowed to send an invoice without VAT on it, surely Berghaus should be able to provide this?I've not yet worn the jacket but expect to find that a few short cuts have been made in zip quality, number of pockets etc. To start with a suitable base layer, Choose either a long or short sleeve wicking t-shirt such as polyester, wool or similar you will feel allot warmer and no clammy moisture against your skin. I have found the Cornice IA Jacket; lightweight and suitable for summer use, and with the spectrum fleece warm and waterproof for winter use.
