This is what you have to do as the Captain if you’re failing and you’re not going to get Treasure you need to make sure as many other players go down with the ship alongside you.

The treasure cards have similar beautiful illustrations, and once you look at the number, you needn’t look at them again. And over the course of a few plays, I’ve come to admire the clever gameplay in addition to the beautiful components. Going around the table clockwise, each player announces whether they will stay on the ship or leave.

Throw in Blam’s top-notch production value, and you have a family game that could do well this awards season.While professional tennis players spend most of their time on the court, some like to relax and try their luck at the casino tables. Yet the game remains friendly: even forcing somebody off the ship still means they still get a treasure card and can avoid crashing. For example, you might jump ship early not because you think the captain can’t make it but because you’re next in line to be captain and either don’t have or don’t want to spend cards. Each of the island tiles is beautifully illustrated, and they serve simply as lily pads for the airship, brief stops before the next jump.
