About this deal

Castle Deverill, cherished home to the Deverill family in the west of Ireland for hundreds of years, has burned to the ground.

She read Spanish and Italian at Exeter University and spent much of the 90s in Buenos Aires, where her mother grew up.So many story lines weaving together, leaving the reader with great anticipation about what happens next.

Daughters of Castle Deverill began just where Songs of Love and War left off and it took this epic drama to another level. The part played by "The Shrubs" in this book ( sorry, but I don't want to spoil this treat for you by telling you what they are), was a touch of genius. I skim-read a lot of this willing it to pick up, and it finally does towards the end when a chance meeting sets things up for plenty of shock and heartbreak; I'd decided not to bother with the third installment midway through the second, but the ending changed my mind.

A compelling story of family and history, from the author of the top ten bestseller Songs of Love and War . She has seeped her series deep in rich Irish history, she delivers a strong sense of place and presents the reader with a rich cast of main, as well as supporting characters. There's nothing better than sinking into a novel and empathising with the characters as they journey through the novel, experiencing both ups and downs. As the lingering effects of the Great War is felt, followed by the financial crash of 1929, the book focuses on how this impacts on our three main players. Montefiore does a great job of including pieces of background from the previous novel to ensure an easy transition for the reader.

Our Non-Fiction Range includes: Academic, Photography, Audio books, Business, Cook Books, Craft Books, Health and Fitness Books, Mind, Body, Spirit (Tarot). As these three daughters of Ireland seek to make their way in a world once again beset by dark forces, Santa Montefiore shows us once more why she is one of the best-loved storytellers at work today. I probably won’t go back and start over myself, but I do recommend starting at the beginning if this is the type of book that interests you.
