The textured bed did not require any glue stick as a buffer layer and the print popped off as easily as PLA once cool. As much as I am unlikely to use the full print volume for a single item in my public projects (I need to ensure others can print the parts on smaller printers) it does allow me to print several parts overnight or build larger items for personal projects. The video included on the microSD card is helpful – and Elegoo was thoughtful enough to mention the video twice in the printer’s documentation, so that users are aware of it. Smart resume printing: the printer will auto-pause when the filament runs out or breaks, and you can resume printing after a power outage.
With a filament detection sensor, whenever the filament runs out or breaks, the printer will pause and alarm until you load the new filament to avoid material waste and model scrapping. The ability to change nozzles is welcome and the large touchscreen interface makes for easy control of the machine. It has a texture PEI build plate, it has an automatic bed level sensor, it has a direct drive hotend and extruder combo, and it has a build volume of 220x220x250.
The 250W hotbed can quickly heat up to 100ºC to meet the needs of different filament materials and avoid warping issues.
The effective detection distance of the leveling sensor to the PEI platform plate is within 4mm, replace the heat pipe of other sizes The tip will affect the leveling, which may cause the nozzle to press against the platform first during detection, resulting in inaccurate detection data or detection failure. inch color touchscreen with a multilingual intuitive interface and smooth touch controls by hand or fixed on the base, giving you a user-friendly operating experience. The most interesting update is riding on the gantry: a dual gear direct drive that does an excellent job of grabbing squirrelly material like TPU.
It is the older 12864 full graphics LCD, which despite what its name implies, is a monochrome LCD, it is ancient, but it is simple and bulletproof.
Should the compensation required be too drastic there are large knobs placed on the underside of the platform in six locations. This is because I think it is less prone to damage when the machine is connected to a computer for direct printing.The Neptune 3 Plus arrived with an opening torn in the top of the box which, thanks to the dense foam packing, had no impact on the printer itself.
Well, that didn't work out - when the power came back just seconds later the printer restarted apparently clueless to the fact that just moments ago it was part way through a print. This is by far one of our favorite printers and one we can easily recommend as one of the best 3D printers for both beginner and veteran makers.
Whether it be from Creality, Sovol, or Elegoo themselves, Elegoo can’t sit on their laurels, and thankfully, they’re doing well. There are hand-leveling knobs under the hotbed to fine-turn the build platform for a better compensation effect and final print quality.
