About this deal
I bought a used version a whole 7 years after it was published for a total of 28 pounds which is a bargain considered this book sells for more than 70 in some instances. A community-maintained environment where you can find or share information about everything regarding the virtual band Gorillaz.
Rise of the Ogre is an autobiography about the virtual band Gorillaz, ostensibly written by the four band-members in collaboration with (actual) Gorillaz musician and official scribe Cass Browne. Gorillaz have always been as much about the visuals as they are about the music, and the autobiography will be a feast for the eyes. But remember you love Kermit the Frog and Gonzo for them, not because it's Jim Henson and Frank Oz moving them. Signed by Cass and Hewel, with the original fake library pouch~~VG/Good+ 1st ed 2006 hardback, unclipped DJ.It covers the band from 2000 and their first EP, Tomorrow Comes Today through their 2006 tour ending at the Apollo Theater.
The back cover of the book features Jamie's interpretation of what all of the band would look like combined. The book blends fact and fiction throughout, interspersing commentary from the band members with actual quotes from their creators, collaborators and critics. If it won't get re-published (which I hope it will) with the addition of Plastic Beach story this may turn into quite the collectors artifact!
