About this deal

Also, somebody is rustling sheep in Wensleydale, and the father of one of Grimm’s team members is a victim. The fusion of the country and city with the is seamlessly executed, crafting a world that feels like it is going to be fun to explore. It’s beautiful country, where the people are genuine and honest, the air is fresh, and Harry – in spite of himself – is beginning to enjoy himself. The main story is thin and cliche with the bad guy being marked as bad guy from his first appearance. There was not much that was especially memorable about it except for the character of Harry and the Yorkshire setting, but that was enough to hold my interest and I would expect to read more of the series in the future.

The readers of Grimm Up North will continue to follow Detective Chief Inspector Harry Grimm to discover what happens. It always puzzles me why the crime books I found boring and could not finish garner such high ratings - always above 4, nearly 5. Ruth Blum, an anthropology student, arrives in this lost, pre-industrial hamlet and is invited into Yves's home while she studies the villagers, whose suspicions of her 'witchcraft' fester as the modern world begins to intrude in her wake. Harry Grimm, scar-faced former police detective from Bristol, is settling in (at least tentatively) in his “temporary” secondment in Wensleydale, Yorkshire. Harry found himself staring at a corner building with the word HERRIOT's in gold lettering on the side of it.This is a case that will prove how well Harry and his team are as one, the ability to trust will be tested in this book and we shall see how far they have come from the fledgling group in ‘Grimm Up North’. It makes a change for authors to use real places and I could 'see' everything described so well it made me homesick, I could even taste the pie from Cocketts! After an almost-bungled sting (Grimm came very close to it being his last operation), his superintendent packs him off to a small town in the Yorkshire Dales. On his right sat the butcher’s counter, so Harry turned to the left to find the bakery staring back.

A classic fish-out-of-water crime mystery set in the stunning and evocative scenery of Wensleydale in North Yorkshire. It's a Yorkshire thing as DCI Harry Grimm finds out when he is seconded to Hawes in Wensleydale (All Creatures Great and Small country) from Bristol.the idea that a DCI would be able to f bomb his way through a press conference with no comebacks isn't all that realistic, although it was amusing. I really like to see the camarderie (in the form of banter of course) that is growing between the team and it’s almost like watching members of your family grow as time goes on. Sophie, who fell out with her parents after using foul language at a church and for her rebellious behavior at home, was out of favor with her bullying classmates—especially classmate Jennifer Sharp who nicknamed her Celibate Sophie—,her principal Mrs.
