It is definitely made with older children in mind but our 8 month old really likes it when I read this book to her - she seems to like the drawings since she also enjoys the little raindrop book from the same series.

It links beautifully to the KS1 science curriculum and is a great way to grow your little learners’ curiosity. The Nature Stories Collection is a perfect introduction to seasons, lifecycles, and other nature topics. My 3 year old grandson, who loves to collect acorns, was amazed to learn that a little acorn could one day grow into an oak tree.This book would be a welcome addition to a class or school library or for children to read and reread at home’.

While I’m not totally excited about that question alllllll the time, I am impressed she completely understood the concept from this book! I think it's worth introducing it early even when it's still too much text for the child - it's great to talk about the pictures and thus introducing nature related vocabulary (we have a lot of oak trees where we live, so this is works really well for us).
