About this deal

Playing a strictly limited season at the West End’s Ambassadors Theatre, the production runs for a strictly limited season, from May 15th to June 2nd 2018. She and Farquhar, who is now Carol, completely change, and Styler is told he is Easterman and Styler was just his assumed name.

He goes on to say , "Richard Baron's production, wittily designed by Ken Harrison, combines efficient slasher thrills 'n' chills with outbreaks of pitch-black humour. We hear he has been waiting to meet the doctor for two hours having driven for three and a half hours to get to the meeting. The protean set is designed, of course, to illustrate the scribe’s central thesis that appearances are deceptive and that even the most rational mind can be clouded by lies, trickery, misdirection and its own preconceived notions about reality.Set, Beowulf Boritt; costumes, Melissa Bruning; lighting, Jason Lyons; sound, Bernard Fox; fight direction, J. This dark comedy was the perfect antidote for me personally after beginning and discarding five books in a row (maybe more). On 9 November 2008, the play premiered Off Broadway in New York City starring Keith Carradine as Dr.

I’m watching Anthony Horowitz dark psychological thriller play “Mindgame” that has come to the West End at the Ambassador theatre for three weeks only, after a successful UK tour. A lot of this seems to be included for shock value, without much understanding of how psychiatric institutions actually operate. This began with two Sherlock Holmes continuation novels, The House of Silk and Moriarty, followed by my entry into the world of James Bond with Trigger Mortis. First he has to get past Dr Farquhar, the quixotic head of Fairfields – the asylum where Easterman is kept. I may not like the play, but the popular press didn't mind it too much, except for NICHOLAS DE JONGH of THE EVENING STANDARD who says, "When it came to suffering, the real, hard work was done by an audience condemned to watch this strident, silly piffle.

We are then taken on a journey of twists and turns for the rest of the play that makes you ask who is the ‘sane’ person here. An original thriller, Magpie Murders was published last year and got some of the best reviews I've had. I hope, if you read it, you'll enjoy all the clues, the red herrings, the bizarre range of suspects and the occasionally violent twists.

A prominent author of novels and "true crime"stories enters a secluded mental institution to interview a serial killer who has been confined there for thirty years. I read it in one sitting and I normally never do this haha because of my crappy attention span, so this says a lot about this book. Anthony Horowitz is best known for such television programmes as Poirot, Murder Most Horrid, and Midsomer Murders - for wich he has written many episodes. But by the time Styler accepts defeat and prepares to take his leave, he discovers the doors are locked — so the good doctor can conduct an impromptu psychiatric examination of him. It introduces a detective by the name of Daniel Hawthorne - a rather dark and dangerous man whom I actually met on the set of Injustice. Best-known for his books, including the Alex Rider collection and The Diamond Brothers series, he has also written two Sherlock Holmes novels. In the end, the actors outperform their characters and the set upstages the play, which is far too static to begin with — and much too silly to take seriously.
