Having had a blast painting up a Black Templar previously, to the point that I am seriously considering starting a Black Templars Primaris army.

Something compelled me to prime the Emperor’s Champion in grey, I’m not quite sure what though, as a black prime would make more sense for both the metallics and, you know, all that black armour the Black Templars are famous for. Sometimes it’s straightforward, like with the Black Templar Castellan or Eisenhorn, modifying proportions and rendering the details to a paintable size, and sometimes you’ll adapt to a modern armour design, as with Helbrecht. This pack of 20 dice fits in perfectly with their calm and rational sensibilities, and even shows the faction logo whenever you roll a six. Red Earth might be an opaque ink but it still takes a few layers to really build up a solid coat, I used this to add some variation to the base. The skin was looking nice and vibrant at this point but it needed a few more details to really make it pop.I’m also painting some Horus Heresy minis in Emperor’s Children colors just for fun although I might use them in Kill Team.
