About this deal

Guitar Guitar Limited trading as guitarguitar acts as a credit broker not a lender and is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, firm registration number 742103. It's a very practical and easy to use processor - you just plug in a mic, dial up one of 30 presets and start singing. There’s no need for programming, and you don’t need to input notes from a keyboard as you do with a Vocoder — simply sing and let the VE-20 do the rest!

Compared to the one I was using the Boss VE2 which I bought again due to it being lighter it has presets which the VE2 dosen't have. My fave effects are the octave below, chorus, double/ three/ six voices and a couple of the harmonizers. Harmony Function:** Create lush vocal harmonies in real-time, allowing you to sing in harmony with yourself. In other news, the VE-20 is a huge power suck, and it takes 6 AA batteries that will run down in a little under 8 hours of use.Real-Time Vocal Processing:** The VE-20 provides real-time vocal processing, allowing you to instantly apply a variety of effects and enhancements to your voice while you sing. While the harmonies are an important part of the VE-20, BOSS has also put in plenty of vocal effects should you want to sound like a robot, Cher, or even a tinny radio. The new, easy-to-use VE-20 has been designed from the ground up for singers, featuring some of the finest vocal-effects technology on the market. This pedal offer creative possibilities for vocalists and may be particularly suited to solo acts that want to add a little interest to their music or just present a bigger sound to their audience. Of course, if you want to roll your sleeves up and create, the VE-20 has a variety of editing tools onboard.

This Boss unit has the usual bunch of effects that most vocalists would want, including harmony (up to 3-part), double-tracking, dynamics, reverb, delay, and distortion. You have the tried and true Boss sound that you have come to expect with some added custom features not available on the original models. Not sure if you can trust the sound person where you are playing, or you just want to have a little bit of control over your vocal performance?Built to Perform:** Designed for the rigors of live performances, the Boss VE-20 is built with durable construction to withstand the demands of the stage. All in all, a very nice sounding and potentially very useful device, if you can learn to live with the shortcomings, but, to paraphrase Obi-Wan Kenobi, 'this is not the vocal processor I'm looking for'! The pitch correction FX block has an 'electric' setting for that abused Auto-Tune sound, while the available tone/SFX types include chorus, flanger, strobe (a tremolo effect), radio, preamp (for EQ and the like) and distortion, which possibly combined with an octave down harmony should tickle the fancy of death metal vocalists.

Bear in mind, though, that this type of pedal demands to be used with caution, vocal pitchshifting technology isn't without odd-sounding artefacts and a shift of just a few semitones can sound unnatural if mixed too high in relation to the main vocal. You get 38 seconds of mono record time to loop and layer phrases, and you can do it all in real time onstage.Products shown, tagged or featured on YouTube by creators are sold by merchants and are subject to merchant's terms and conditions. In addition to its harmony and pitch-correction tools, the VE-20 offers a colourful and expressive collection of special effects, including Electric (made famous by artists such as Cher and Black-Eyed Peas), Robot, Strobe (rotary), Distortion, Chorus, and Reverb. Since our Trombone/Trumpet player is no longer with the band and I'm now the only horn player we've been using keyboards to cover things.

The 30 that come from the factory are actually pretty good, and if you just want the basic you could probably get away with just using theirs. This stompbox brings pedals out of the realm of guitarists and bassists and into the realm of vocalists, with effects designed just for the voice. That said, there are a variety of editing tools under the hood if you want to get stuck in and create your own sounds for storage in the 50 user memory locations. This pedal can handle just about any vocal fx you need, its certainly never faile d to deliver in the years I've used it.

Easy-to-Use Interface:** The pedal features an intuitive and user-friendly interface with dedicated buttons and knobs for different vocal effects. This little gem has been sitting there under-used for a couple of years, and now has a “sax” channel that I’m really enjoying.
