About this deal
Soft, strong and durable leatherette wraps the comfort foam in a waterproof and sweat-resistant material that easily wipes clean. The score is based on the available ratings and critics and makes an easy comparison between different mechanical keyboards possible. Use FN + F keys to control volume, play and pause, skip track, mute, toggle lighting, enter game mode, etc. The G513 provides a better typing experience mainly because the G815's keys wobble, and some people might not like the shorter travel because the keys bottom out sooner. As mentioned above, macros are limited to the function row, which keeps them out of my usual reach realm.
The “leatherette” surface is packed with memory foam and the result is extremely comfortable; kind of like a soft pillow for your wrists or palms, but not quite as luxurious as the wrist rest on the Razer BlackWidow V2. The frame is made of plastic and aluminum, which feels sturdy and doesn't exhibit any noticeable flex. There are some minor differences between Logitech's Romer-G and Razer's Orange switches, but overall, they perform very similarly for gaming. These can be used to swap out the keys for the numbers one to five and the letters Q, W, E, R, A, S and D.
The Logitech G513 gaming keyboard's build quality is good and is very similar to the Logitech G512 Special Edition and Logitech G413.
Playing multiple rounds of Overwatch felt great, and key presses registered perfectly despite my sometimes spastic movements while controlling an avatar. There is a little bleed around the bottom of the caps, but everything generally feels remarkably restrained yet bright. While this obviously maintained the keyboard’s small form factor – the Corsair K70 LUX RGB is larger thanks to an extra row of media controls, for instance – the Cooler Master MasterKeys MK750 and MSI Vigor CK80 both have proven you can have shortcut keys while still having a frameless design.
