I almost bought this today, but I gave it a little time on my skin and I realized I would never reach for this while I have Black Opium in my wardrobe. A lingering ode infused with sensual notes of jasmine, followed by a luscious heart of vanilla, then concludes with a base of precious musk. Sparkling and dewy jasmine petals, sensual vanilla and an addictive blend of soft musk captivate with a hint of seduction.

I agree that Al Rehab; Golden Sand is a good dupe for this and have recently stumbled across Sunnamusk; Golden Dust, which is not only a great dupe for this, but has beast mode projection, lasting power (days on a sample card) and sillage.

Only one scary minus: If I have understood correctly, the production has been discontinued, so it won't be easy to find in the future. The downside is that it’s VERY weak, you’ll probably have to spray at least 10 times to get any decent performance out of this. It isn't isn't very complex, I don't detect too many notes outside of vanilla, but in cool weather, I think it will be one to wear! I absolutely adore this perfume, it's one of my all time favourites and I'm beyond gutted that it's been discontinued.

Midnight Shimmer is a slow burn without much change from the moment you spray to the end, just softening in strength. Somehow, I don't feel that the bottle color or the name Midnight Shimmer matches the composition, but vanilla-based perfumes are known to turn brown over time, so this bottle might help to hide that! On my next wearing I will be layering it over a vanilla-based lotion or cream or even an unscented body oil.
