After about a week of using this product, I realized that it was THIS Neutrogena sunscreen product that was burning my skin, NOT the sun. I tried this sunscreen the very day Neutrogena sent it to me because I'm always on a look out for sunscreen that is hassle free.

They are a popular class of ingredients found in cosmetics due to their smooth, soft, easy-to-spread and smooth properties that help creates an artificial layer/barrier on top of skin or hair (commonly found in conditioners). Stings the least of the bunch, but it’s still irritating enough to prevent me from using it consistently. However one type of alcohols, simple alcohols can be quite drying to the skin because it evaporates very quickly.

I’ve been using two of Etude House’s sunscreens and I’ve been loving them (a real proper review on them will be coming shortly! It’s easy to spread around without disturbing thicker cream layers underneath, which I’ll definitely appreciate in the winter when my AM routine has a couple moisturizers thrown in there. These alcohols should never be used alone on your skin, but combined with other cosmetic ingredients, they are normally without issue. The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid has everything I’m looking for - lightweight, easy to apply, layers well over itself and moisturizer, satin finish that’s trying so damn hard to be matte.Oxybenzone: is a sunscreen ingredient that can contaminate the body as it’s absorbed through the skin, it may also cause cell damage (but the jury is still out on that one).
