Yeah, the opening lemon is a bit harsh, but the dry down is nice with a sandalwood base and there's something about this fragrance that just smells like fresh cut grass. The initial citrus blast of Burberry Weekend could easily pass for the top notes of some 80s powerhouse, you'd almost expect the spices to kick in momentarily; so thinking ahead Burberry weekend could be a fresh version powerhouse! An invigorating fragrance with citrus top notes of fresh lemon, grapefruit and sweet tangerine and soft heart notes of oak moss, ivy leaves and sandalwood. I never told my friend or her sister I was wearing Burberry Weekend (that friend of her sister was probably wearing it too).The sensation is exactly being on a beautiful pick nick on the country that turns out a nightmare at the end of the day. It's opening was too loud and disorganized with various citrus notes vying for attention, and none of them smelled organic. maybe it blends really well with my body chemistry coz i am a little surprised at the lack of love shown for this baby. Unlike modern day perfumery which is lot complicated and experimental this perfume keeps it simple and straight.

Weekend is a clean, light (not in its sillage, but on the notes), and just by the name "weekend" you can tell that's the whole idea, an "out of the shower" fragrance that has nothing to do with the "serious and ultra alpha male" fragrances that most guys wear at work. The green notes, especially Ivy seems to creep in much quicker than sandalwood, by the time the woods appear (I am wearing it now) I am close to biting my wrist off. I am not a big fan of the citrus opening, but the sweet honey musky drydown is pretty good - that's where I was lucky with the certain magical flowery face of the fragrance. I dont smell any honey, i get the rest of the smell in the drydown, but the citrus has ruined it from the start, and lingers veery slightly throughout, it warps the other notes. The kind of feeling this scent induces is relatable to when you hear a tornado warning on a fair day. Burberry's classic Weekend for men fragrance opens with light citrus top notes of fresh lemon, grapefruit and sweet tangerine that invigorates. I don't think it will ever be a love, but it is something I would wear when I need some light and casual.
