I bought my son a Zwilling Henckels 3 knife set as a moving out gift paid about the same for that set as the culinar. Personally, I'd start with a set of waterstones because even the most expensive Damascus steel blades are shit if you can't maintain a razor edge. The handle is made of highquality ceramic, which is resistant to high temperature and not easy to rust.
